Can someone advise me? My boyf is with o2 and has been told there's no-way he can get a reduced contract AND a phone. Is this true now? I managed to get both when I tried to leave last FebWhat the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose.

on 18 month contract, i just called 202 from my o2 phone and went through to cancel.0

I called this morning to 08000288151 O2 retention and was offered
Refurbished N95 free
off peak 1500min 500txt
£25 a month
12 month contract
£100 credit in my account.
Is this a good deal?
My current contract end in a month time also on off peak tariff. I told the lady to put the offer in note and I will think about it. all folks here got K850I.
Refurbished N95 vs. NEW K850I, which is better?0 -

I would have forgone the hundred quid and got a new N95, which is arguably the better phone over the K850i as an all rounder. It's not a bad deal especially if you only use your minutes at night.
i disagree
i would rather get £100 and get a refurbished handset, it still works the same, looks the same, and has still got a 12 month warrantly should anything go wrong0 -
Had been with o2 for years on PAYG and they treated me so well that I didn't bother with contracts until 3 months ago...now I have the N95 and 600mins/unlimited text for £35 per month. I'm happy with the phone (although this is actually my second handset already, screen was a bit fragile on the first one!) but I've realised that the tariff just doesn't suit me at all.
I'm on an 18 month contract so there's no reason why they might want to be nice to me but what are my chances of getting them to replace a chunk of my minutes with web/data allowance instead? Do they even do things like that? I'd happily give up the bulk of my free minutes for a decent allowance cos 1MB is just the most pants thing ever.
Anyone ever done anything like that before?0 -
Just renewed my O2 contract with CPW for 24 months.
Was on £25 per month 200 mins, 200 texts.
Monthly bill has been cut to £20 for the same deal with £100 chequeback upfront. Now think I've been a bit hasty.
Quite happy with my current phone so asked about O2 Simplicity.
Told it would only be £15 for 200 / 200 but wouldn't get the cash back.
Now I think I've been reeled in for the sake of a £100 chequeback that may never materialise.
He said I've got 7 days to change my mind.
If I phone O2 CPW could I cancel this renewal and go on Simplicity when I'm out of contract?
I'd only have to give 30 days notice then for a handset upgrade. (O2 CPW said that there are system problems preventing customers from doing this, but suppose he would say that to ensnare me for 24 months)
I hope it's not too late to change my mind after all 2 years is a long time in the mobile phone industry...0 -
CPW do even better delas than that. With simplicity I do not thin k you get a new handset, do you?
But they did a deal when my colleague was coming to the end of his deal. His was a £30 200min/100 text(bought from e2save). I spoke on his behalf and said orange offered £20 for 18 month 500 mins 250text contract. The guy offered £18 500min/250 text for 18 months if we were to stay with CPW o2 contract and also got a SPV650 free. Thats teh phone with the sliding qwerty keyboard!!
Say you changed your mind as you are not happy and check other networks they will offer you better. I woudl say do not take less than 500 mins and do not pay more than £20 with the latest phone. thats what most networks are offering.Just renewed my O2 contract with CPW for 24 months.

Maybe not as good a deal as everyone else but i'm happy with it!!
1000 texts
400 mins x-net anytime(plus unlimited o2-o2), great as everyone i know is o2!!
Free k850i
£25 per month
Suits me down to the ground!!!
First lady i spoke to was adamant i couldnt have the phone for nothing on my £25 a month tariff, so i asked to be put through to disconnections and they gave me the £30 a month tariff with monthly discount to make it £25. So i get more texts and minutes for the same price plus the handset i want:jThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
The systems problem preventing upgrades seem real and just cost them a customer. I was put on a Simplicity tariff back in August and told that I could upgrade from it at any time (was coming to end of 12 month contract at the time). I was told the monthly price was going to be £10. This turned out to be untrue (£15 is the lowest Simplicity deal) . They refunded my £5 for the first month and I then wanted to upgrade instead - no luck. I have been promised numerous callbacks (noone ever did call back) and that it would be possible next Monday, or in a weeks time or... Sent my cancellation by recorded delivery on Sat and hoping to get my PAC soon!0
