O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

Just phoned o2 to tell them i was leaving for a better (made-up) deal with vodaphone and here's what i was offered;

800 mins & 1000 texts for £25

With this I'm also getting a new handset, the Samsung G600, a digital photoframe worth £99 which is part of a current promotion and the Samsung accessory pack.

The man in retentions also offered me an added carrot of either free texts for the length of the 18-month contract, free calls at all times to other o2 users or free weekend calls to any network.

Sounds good to me! :T

I've been on 750 min and 750 texts for £20 for the last 18 months, I called o2 asking to cancel and was offered the k850 free, 400 minutes and 1000 texts for £20 for 18 months again.

I asked if I could have that on a 12 month contract and they upped the cost to £30 a month. Also if I go onto the above 18 month contract and have the web bolt-on it goes back to £30!

I'm sure there are better deals around...

Any ideas on what to say?

The new black n95 8 gig is a much better version of the normal n95. it has bigger screen, has double ram, hence hopefully hangs less.

The gentleman on the phone told me it doesnt matter that i've been with 02 for 5+ years, they only value loyalty on how much you spend now.

So if I spend £100+ a month for the next 6 months I may be entitled to be a o2 select customer but there's no guarantee

i am sooo frustrated. they have sent me a new N95-1 (the silver one). this was the initial deal but with £100 cashback, but they gave no cashback as i was told it was the NEW BLACK N95 8GB !!

i rang back today to tell them its NOT WHAT WAS OFFERED AGAIN !, after being passed from one person to another, i am told to return this phone - freepost - and "once they receive THIS handset, they will see if there are any refubs in stock at that time and will send one out. if not i will get the black N95 due dec 31st".

so now i have to return this, wait for a refurb (which they do have in stock at present, as the lady checked, but said they cannot 'keep' one for me - ironic hey?)

not sure whether to just wait till new yr and get the black n95, or get the refurb and £100?

... or if i do wait, will they remember what was offered cuz it seems like they forget what they had for lunch the same day???

m8 if you can... then wait for the black n95 8 gig. Its worth it...:wall:

Google around for its reviews and pics and then you will be ready to wait for it till jan even.:beer:

& yes a quick advice whenevr u call o2, plz make a note of the person's name who's offering the deal and whatever conclusion they come to, if you are satisfied ask them to put it down on your notes. rare but there may be a chance some1 @ o2 answering your call on 31st december and saying "who n95???":D

I guess I was just luck to talk to the right person.

The women went away for about 5min and came back to say that since I had been such a loyal customer she was happy to match the deal. Not heard of anyone else getting a better deal for the LG viewty.

Just ordered a LG viewty for £39.99.
My new tariff is 400 minutes, 1000 texts, unlimited o2 to o2 calls @ £20 for 18 months.

It's not as good as my 750 min and 750 texts for £20 but I need a new contract so may as well
