  • Hi,

I recently ported my number from O2 offline to O2 Online Sim Only tariff (Simplicity) back in September (after the Non-geographic change). I tried upgrading yesterday but I have been told that, although I can upgrade, I am not eligible for any Loyalty discount as I have ported (even though it is within O2!!). The girl said you are only eligible after 12 months.

I rang again today and I was advised by someone else that (hopefully) I should be eligible in January which is 4 months from the start of my Simplicity tariff as it takes a while for their system to recognise the number.

Does anyone who is/was on Simplicity have any experience of this, and know if Loyalty discount is offered on this tariff?

    Thanks.

    Hi all,
Just wanted to post the deal I got from o2 retentions today.

Been with o2 online since July 2005. Current expiring deal set up in July 2006:

    Online £35 Texter - 750 mins + 750 texts, ITS, 1gb WAP use (?) 18 month contract.

I called and said I wanted to know when my contact was up as I was thinking of joining Three's Mix & Match 700 (£21 per month) with a free Nokia 6120. The guy asked me if i had any friends/family on o2 as some of their new tariffs include unlimited o2 to o2 calls. I said this wouldn't really be of benefit to me.

    He came back with:
Free Nokia 6500 Classic (they don't do the 6120), 18 month contract on my existing tariff but reduced to £20 per month, with ITS + the same wap surfing thing I had before.

I didn't haggle and just went for it. Maybe I could have got more by playing hardball and speaking to the manager etc. but i couldn't really be fussed. There are network coverage issues etc with 3 and my o2 reception is always spot on - it's a good saving so i'm happy.

    Cheers all.

  • Hi,

Just about to upgrade wifes phone...what is the number for o2 retentions?

She is after the samsung pink think 920i is it? what you think we could get in way of a deal

    Regards

    Pete
  • I think it was this number: 08706007102

The key is, pick a package, pick a price point. Tell them "i want to spend 20 pounds a month", then let them offer you something. Keep the o2 website up and pick a package or 2 higher - ask how much they can do it for and push for the original price you wanted.

I'm not exactly a high user - my bills generally top out at 35 quid a month, yet I still got a 20 pound contract worth 35 a month.
  • Hey guys,
My contract is up for renewal and I always haggle hard every year! This year they're really trying to push an 18 month contracts but I want to stick to 12. The deal I've been offered on an 18 month is

    Nokia N95
    600 mins
    1000 texts
    £20 a month

Has anyone managed to get something like this for a 12 month contract? The best they've offered so far is the same but for £25.
  • been keeping an eye on this thread, so I had an idea of what you could get if you tried. Here's what i got:

    se w910i free
    400 mins
    1000 texts
    02 to 02 free
    18 month contract
    £20 per month

not great but better than I was offered before and I'm happy! :j

Lovenkrands, it's impossible to know if you got a good deal or not as you don't specify how much per month the contract is for.

just when i thought i had included everything :o , well spotted
  • O2 are useless,
Currenty almost finished a 12 month o2 contract, called them up to see what I could get if I renew, and they are all pants...

Last year I phoned up to quit, and they were quick to not only match, but beat the deal...

Maybe I am just unlucky to who I get through to, will try again in a bit... any suggestions?

Looking ideally for a G600 12 month contract.... Got til the end of the month till mine runs out...

Although Virgin did offer free phone, 150 mins, 750 txts, £25 for 12 month (VM customer), but staying with o2 saves some hassle...
