Seems a pretty good deal - my wife has been with them for about 5 years and was on 200 mins 400 txts for £15 per month and when she tried to renew last week they wouldn't give her a new phone. She asked for her PAC code and they sent it through in a couple of days making no attempt to retain her custom. Not impressed by o2 at all.

Me too been with them ages but they just issued it straightaway. I then ask if they could beat other offers i got. They offered this:

XDA orbit free-250 mins, can't rem how many text cos i don't use that many(but at least 100) , for 20 pounds a month. Is this a good deal? I need a big incentive as the reception for 02 is terrible in my apartment.Any views?

My wife phoned o2 back to ask for the address to send her cancellation letter and couldn't believe the deal she got. Straight away was given the same £15 a month deal as before and as told that if she didn't want a new phone they would credit her account with £180 - basically a free for a year. She went for a new nokia 6300 and was given £50 credited to her bill (roughly 3 months free) and £15 per month for 18 months contract. Just shows that you can't give in when they try to call your bluff by sending you your PAC code! Hope it works for you.
  • Last week I renewed my O2 contract for 18 months with the following deal.

750 mins / 750 txts £35 a month discounted to 1/2 price ie £17.50. New Nokia 6500, which will be sold on ebay for £200. Making my mobile bill just £115 for the next 18 months, just over £6 a month!

I hope this information is useful in your negotiations.

But a new 6300 is worth £60-70 as opposed to £180 cash - I know which I'd of chosen
  • Was on Online 50 (50 mins / 500 texts) @ £19

    I've taken the following deal......
    400 mins
    1000 texts
    free o2 to o2
    Free K850i

Quoted at first as £30 (to get the phone free) - immediately down to £25, said to the young lady would love it if she could do it for £20......said she could do the tariff down to 20 if I took the insurance (£7.50). I asked what would happen if I cancelled the insurance and what the minimum term was. Was told 14 days cooling off, 1 month minimum term and the tariff would stay at 20 quid.

Phone arriving in 1-3 working days..... :D
What should I put in here that won't upset people.........
  • Just got off the phone with o2 (cancellation department):

Straight away I asked for the address I need to write to so I can cancel my contract....and then they offered me:

    K850i Free
    500 min
    500 text
    Free ITS
    Free voicemail
    12 Month Contract
    £25 per month

I have accepted and will receive phone on Tuesday/Weds.
  • Spoke to O2 retention team.
    Got my Nokia 6300 free
    for £20 a month
    12 months contract
    500 Xmins/100 text

Ended up increasing my tariff by £5 more per month...
I guess I am not good at haggling
  • Im just about to run out of contract
old contract was 200 mins doubled to 400 for 18 mth term for £31.10
Ive been offered 600min 50txs 24mth cont for £25/mth first 2 free. New K850i and an upgrade new phone in 11 months.
I cant work out if this is a good deal. while i don,t like the 24 mth, it seems if i get at least 2 decent handsets in the time it is like 2 12mth contracts.
    I havent tried haggling yet.
