Hey, just wondering when I need to phone.
Im just finishing a 18mont contract - started april25 06, and i wondered when i can upgrade. on the o2 website it says after 17 months. Will they phone me to continue, or should i phone them?
I have been with them on payasyougo for 6years before i went onto contract. I am currently spending £30pm including insurance, and i usually stick to this. What do i need to do to get agreat deal? any advice???0 -

As an O2 select customer i am eligable to upgrade after 9 months so i was happy with that.Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0

I was offered the SE P1i for free on a 18 month contract at £40 a month. I didn't accept. Anyone know when this phone will be coming to the other networks?0

Hi
I've been with O2 for 3 years ( 6 yrs previously in ex-hubs name ) and not had a new handset for 3 yrs.
'Best' offers I got when I phoned on Thursday:
1) Simplicity (30 day contract, no phone) £15 200mins/200 txts
2) Simplicity (30 day contract, no phone) £20 400mins/500 txts
3) 18 mnth contract K810i (i specified the phone) £25 200mins/400 txts
I am on O2 25 ( 25/25 ) £13.62 p/m) which is rubbish as I can use 25 txts in a day.. my last bill was £35 just in txt msges!
I am much more a sms/mms user than a minutes user, so want a good txt deal. I was tempted to go with option 3, but having read these threads, I feel I'm not gettin a good deal . I would love the K810i 500/500 £20 p/m... how could I get that?
Would it help if i printed that thread off and took it into O2 shop? Also does it make any difference if i renew online/in shop/over the phone?
PS-- forgot to mention, I have got the new K810i which I got cheap thanks to the 'Grabbit while you can' thread .. £99 instead of £199, which I intend to sell.)

bump.
any help? please?
I'm crap at negotiating, I want some ideas, cos I'm sure I can get a better deal, surely as a loyal customer and usually having high bills
thanks0 -
You have to tell them what you want and what you need, how much you want it for and let them work around that. They originally offered for 600 mins 500 texts with long weekend (free calls sat, sun, monday) for £35. That is the same deal that is offered to new customers. When i kicked off and told them they were taking the mickey with me they were much more helpful. Of course i did all that politely!
Tell them you've been offered a better deal elsewhere. Make it up if you have to but there are good deals out there at the mo especially with 3. Tell them you are willing to leave and go with another company unless you can better the deal. If it doesn't work, tell them you'll think about their offer and that you'll call back. Hang up, and call back! I did that within 5 mins and got a better deal with someone else.
