O2 are not even trying to keep customers. I got through to retentions, told them why I wanted to leave and quoted examples of 3 and vodafone plans then the guy said that my pac code will be with me in 2-3 days! He didn't even try to convice me to stay! S*d you O2 - I'm off!!0

Yeah, I experienced the same thing really. I'm with o2 on 1/2 price line rental £15 a month for 200m/200t. I was after an upgrade with the same line rental. They said the minimum contract they could offer me was £25 a month. I would get 500 mins, 100 texts and the U600 for 12mnths, which isn't too bad. But I can't believe the minimum tariff is now £25 a month. Has anybody had any good deals from o2 recently?
thanks0 -
I have always found it best to actually ring up and CANCEL your contract - giving them the 30 days notice. Do not try and negotiate a better offer at this stage.
Then with about a week to go before the end of the contract you will most likely get a call offering you a good deal. For the last three years both 3 and O2 have always called me like this.
I cancelled my contract with O2 a few weeks ago (12 month Talk 250 + 100 Cashback Deal) and told them I was going over to Pay as You Go as I don't use the phone that much (mainly for receiving calls).
They offered me a free 12 month contract which has 25 free minutes a month and anything over this is 20p minute - and I keep the existing phone.
OK, this won't suit most people but they listened to what I wanted and reponded with an offer that is better than Pay as You Go.0 -
I suppose I've got around 3 weeks to find something I like, and for o2 to make me an offer. I don't want to leave it till the last week though.0

I called O2 last week and got offered quite a good deal. I am now getting 500 texts and 100 minutes for £15 a month, and on a 12 month contract. I also chose to keep my existing handset, and was given a £100 credit to my account.
Averaging everything out, my line rental for the next 12 months will be approx £6.66 a month!
A bargain if I ever did see one! Seams like O2 still have some good deals to be had if you persist! 0 -
Hey, my first post after being a long time lurker . Any advice on what i should do next. Previous 2 years a bit of bartering got me some good deals. ATM:
500 anytime mins (+ rollover)
500 +400 text bundle
£25pm (inc £5 insurance)
Spoke to some woman who sounded quite dim tbh and wouldnt listen to anything i said. All she kept quoting was the simplicity price plans. I made up that an orange shop nearby had quoted me £25p/m for 500 mins + 600 texts and a free w880i and i want my PAC code as its a better deal that i have now or will be able to be offered by O2.
*She keeps repeating the simplicity tarriffs are the only price plans atm*
So she didn't even want to negotiate of renew my current deal. I also explained that the orange deal is better because of the magic number so i could call my MRS for free whenever. She didn't even go away and try to sort something out as i told her that wasn't good enough for a customer of over 3 years with a total spendage of nearly £1000.
Then told me we could cancel now or go away and think about it. I said that i was going to go sort out the orange deal and will call back to cancel.
Looks like im gonna try again tomorrow and hopefully get a better person and not some noobie who seems to only be able to read off the screen and not negotiate.

Can I call o2 retentions if I bought my phone through OneStopPhoneShop???
I have tried calling OneStopPhoneShop and they don't do upgrade deals for o2 which is rubbish.
I want them to match the LG PRADA deal with Mobiles2YourDoor...0 -
Does anyone have another number for retentions- I just held on to the 0870 number for 12 minutes and than I gave up.
many thanks0
