have called twice now to renew contract.
Been offered similar to groover but with no new phone - offered £100 cashback instead.
    750 mins and 750 txt
    18 mth contract
    £20 for 12 months
    £35 for 6 months

Other offer was 600 min and 1000 txt
plus long weekend free calls on sat/sun/mon
    £25 per month
no new phone and no cashback
no tie in to a 12 or 18 month contract.

Currently use over 600 min and about 300 txt.

I feel that the 2nd offer of 600 min, 1000 txt and free long weekend calls actually works out better for me.

Both deals seem pretty good - I was paying £20 per month and regularly went over on minutes and texts .

Any big advantage with either deal please.

    thanks

(posted this as a new thread before I saw this!)

I have 2 O2/CPW contracts ending next month. CPW/O2 customer services have offered me the following (both contracts are 12 month/sim only) :

    First Contract

    Option 1
600 X-net mins/500 texts for £40/mth = £480 with an upfront credit of £300 on the account leaving a net £180 payable over a 12 month contract (no cashback claims).

    Option 2
    600 X-net mins/500 texts for £40/mth = £480 with cashback/redemption of £480 leaving a net £0 payable over a 12 month contract (cashback at bills 4,8,12).

    Second Contract

    Option 1
400 mins/500 texts for £35 = £420 with an upfront credit of £300 on the account leaving a net £120 payable over a 12 month contract (no cashback).

    Option 2
    400 X-net mins/500 texts for £35/mth = £420 with cashback/redemption of £408 leaving a net £12 payable over a 12 month contract (cashback at bills 4,8,12).

The cashbacks are supposedly without time limit so if I miss sending in a bill then I won't lose the claim (which sounds too good to be true?).

I've asked them to email me the details, but I'm wondering if it's worth pushing for a handset as well (I'm not too bothered as I'm happy with the ones I've got). Has anyone else experienced these "no time limit" cashbacks from CPW?
  • Current offer.

    12month contract
    1200 minutes cross networks
    500 texts
    1/2 mb monthly data allowance
    Nokia N95
    Itemised billing

    £40 inc

I also paid £6 for monthy insurance taking it to £46.

    Any good?

I would check your house contents insurance Dangerous, sometimes mobile phones are covered and if not a lot of policies now offer to add them for a small fee extra, usually much less than the dedicated insurances cost. Also if you have a fee paying current account they also usually cover mobiles as one of their services.

Apart from that it does seem like a pretty good deal.
  • I just called o2 myself and got offered on my first try.

    500 x-network minutes
    500 texts
    free samsung g600
    £20pm

    well chuffed

    Hi
Called approx 2 hrs ago. Long customer so I got
    Nokia N95 Free
200 mins 400 texts which is more than I need
18 mnth contract £15 for first 12 months £25 for remainder

Pretty good I thought so I took it however my girlfriend who has been with o2 longer and has had exactly the same contracts as me they would not offer her the same? Is it best for her to keep trying she has phoned twice and both assistants have been very unhelpfull the one I got was absolutley brilliant.
  • My contract runs out next month so I rang up retentions. I currently pay £35 p/m for 400 mins and 100 texts which I don't really use. I didn't ask for a new deal but thought they would at least offer something. All I was offered was their new 'simplicity' tariff! When I said wasn't that also just available to new customers, the woman simply said 'let me give you an example, if you were a loyal customer to a shop, would you expect them to give you free milk?'!!!
I said fair enough, but I would expect some sort of effort to retain my custom but she wasn't bothered and proceeded to issue my PAC!

    Great customer service, eh?
  • Hi all,

I am clinging onto my 02 750 Discount tariff. It expires in 2 months. However as a 'Select' customer they called and asked if I would like a free handset upgrade. Nokia 6300 offered. O2 said fine and they said from today your contract will be re-newed for another year. I agreed and then they said because your deal is £17.50 pm 750mins x-network + 200 texts we can't do thar deal any more. They then offered 500 mins + this free weekend call deal. I of course want my original deal extended. I wondered are there any deals out there to compare to what I have. have 7 weeks to find one - I've gone right off 02. They've had my business for 10 years now and maybe its time to change!
