Took 4 calls to get current deal renewed. 500/500 for £20 per month on 12 month deal and £100 credit for not taking phone. (£11.66 per month)
Seems it depends on who you get. The first 3 said they would NOT renew current deal but 4th said yes.
Makes no senseNever argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0 -
On the phone to CPW O2 retentions yesterday, I am currently on a rubbish tarriff. I am paying 36 quid a month for 250 min x network anytime and 20 texts.
Retentions offered me either:
no new phone 400 min 500 sms for 35 per month but pay nothing for the first 8. 75 (!?!) months. He wouldn't stretch to 9 months free!
or the samsung g600 for 35 p m, 400/500, with 100 cashback via 3 bills and 35 quid for the handset.
or the g600 with 200 min and 19.99 for the handset and a load of accessories thrown in for 30 quid a month.
or the g600 with 40/500, handset and accessory pack for 19.99 for 35 per month.
These are all 12 month contracts.
He also told me no-one does rollover minutes anymore. Is this true?
What do people think of these deals? Should I hold out for better? He is phoning me back this evening and to be honest I am torn. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, J.0 -
Just renewed on 18 months with a 'free' N95 on o2 with a 1 gb sd card.
£35.00 for 800 minutes, 500 texts. Plus long weekend meaning free calls from midnight Friday to midnight Monday.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Took 600 X-net mins/500 texts for £40/mth = £480 with cashback/redemption of £480 leaving a net £0 payable over a 12 month contract (cashback at bills 4,8,12). But keep existing handset.
Offered 11 months to start but his ''manager'' reviewed the situation.
Hi there,
I got offered the same deal and I received a new Sim about 8 days ago. They told me the cash back vouchers would be sent out automatically after 7 days but nothing's come through yet. Have you been sent anything on your one?0 -

Hi if you are an o2 select customer they will give you 20% off the line rental youve mentioned this normally cost £40 but you could get it down to £32 even if your not give it a try0 -
Hi everyone,
Rang up for my upgrade/renewal yesterday. Was previously on 500mins/500txt for £20 p/m. The first person I spoke to offered me the sim only 200/400 £25p/m, or a free phone. I asked about my current contract and was told the £15p/m discount runs out at the end of the month and would go up to £35, and they could not renew that. He would not negotiate at all so asked for cancellations phone number and then ended the call.
Rang up again 30 mins later and spoke to a woman who was much more helpful, she passed me onto a member of their 'specialist team', who I eventually managed to negotiate into the following (put on hold a couple of times whilst they worked out the best possible deal):
200mins/500txt
£20 per month
12 month contract
FREE Samsung G600
It took me an hour on the phone in total but I was very happy with that in the end, wouldnt have got a better deal than that for £20 per month on a 12 month contract as a new customer anywhere else!0 -
Similar story to Ruswilks re £15 discount going to end and would be back to £35 p.m. Took about 5 calls over couple of weeks, had already got PAC code but threatened to leave today and after some discussions took place between the team, offered:
Free samsung G600
500mins
1000 texts
£20 p.m. for 12 months, then 6 months at £30
Also something mentioned about getting 'treats' - will have to look into that.
They did however try the hardsell for the insurance.

Sorry, it appears it's 400mins NOT 500mins0 -
2 n a half years at o2 at £25+ should i be able to get a £20 pm with a xda orbit free?0
-
i got 500 mins, 900 texts £15 a month 12 month deal plus £100 credit for not taking a handset.0

Still nothing. I've called five times now, and all they are offering me is the simplicity tarriff. I've told them friends have got better deals, and they said that's impossible, we only offer simplicity to everyone now.0
