I told those muppets at O2 that I had seen the following deal at my local T-mobile shop:
£15 a month
500 mins
500 texts
and a Samsung G600 on 12 months contract
and the guy said, that is a good deal, go for it and gave me my pac number.
I did ask him what he could do to keep me and he said nothing, all he could offer me was at least a £35 a month contract0 -
I'm welfare officer at my college for this year, so my mobile usage has shot up considerably (having to follow up missed calls and messages that I couldn't take as in class/on wards).
I've been with O2 (well, BT Genie as it was then!) since 2000 (on contract). Anyone recommend the best strategy for getting a better bundle deal - I don't mind paying up to £35 a month (well I do, but am currently on a £25 deal and going vastly over it each month)... I guess I need as many minutes and texts as I can possibly get!April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
have i just got the best deal on here so far.
been a 02 online customer for 12 mths
paying 25 pounds a month

someone rang me doing a o2 questinnaire last night on there telephone manners and how my phone call went with them and our i rated them.
i just said the truth mostly telling them they are so poor etc
anyway just had a phone call from o2 about last night
they asked why i wanted to leave i said the deal was poor
so i told her what i wanted
she then said ill offer u a the same deal your on
12mth contact 25pounds a mth
100 mins 500 texts
and 250 cashback
so then said what phones u could offer me
well she said ok i can do this
knock 10 a mth of your 12 mth contact for 12month.
so that is 15 a mth
she then offered me n73 or w880i u900 and nokia 7300 and samsung g600
so i took the deal and the g600
have i made a mistake with the phone here i wanted the most value one as i dont plan to keep it?
anyone? wanted to know if i got the right phoneTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.:D0 -
I have been with 02 since they were called Genie.
I have always had a good relationship with them untill last month.
I always thought I was on one of their first sim only tariff .
Seems I was not... resulting in a bill of £343.
Was prepared to cancel my contract and join vodafone.
Spoke to the people in retentions. told them i was unhappy and they should cancel my contract .. blah blah blah ...
Fair play to the lady ... she convinced me to stay ... here was my offer in the form of a picture because no one ever believes me.

It's called the sim only 3000.
Not really bothered about state of the art phone any more, so this contract is brill.0 -
I recently upgraded and this is the deal I got from o2.
600 min Xnet, 500 txt msg, free unlimited call sat/sun/monday to landlines and mobiles for £25 a month on a 12 month contract. I also got a N95.
I am not one who is up with my mobile knowledge but is this a good deal. I had previously been paying £35 a month for just 200mins!0 -
MrHelpful - I don't think it is a bad retention deal from 02 - especially as you were paying £35 for just 200 minutes before! But do you need all those minutes if you were managing on 200?
We got a deal v.similar to yours except it was for 800 mins and 1000 texts (they were doing a double text deal at the time) and a N95. However they said we could only get the long weekends on an 18 month contract - we thought it was worth it at £25 pm. Didn't want to touch the cashback deals at the moment so I'm happy to sign up to a longer contract and see what the market is doing in 18 months.
B19Jon - how much are you paying per month for that contract? sorry it's not clear from your post. seems like a good deal if you use all the minutes and texts (although it does depend on what the line rental costs of course).0 -

I pay £35 a month. No way I will use up all the minutes, however texts I will -- Yes self confessed text-a-holic.
I used to pay 02 £35 for 200 minutes & 500 texts.0 -
O2 called me when my contract was running out and gave me a renewal contract of 1000 xnetwork anytime mins and 500 msgs for £20. I'm pretty happy with that.
I started out 2 years ago with 200 mins and 500 msgs for £20, so I can't complain!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I phoned O2 today as I am due and upgrade and they offered me rubbish terms - the best they could do was 500 minutes and 100 texts for £35, so I put the phone down and rang back and just asked for the PAC code and got put through to someone else who offered me 500 minutes and 500 texts for £17.50 a month plus an immediate £100 credit on my account, which brings the actual monthly cost down to just about £9. I don't use my phone and never go over my minutes so I think that is not a bad deal really.Jane

I agree - I will just have to make sure I use the minutes! There are a few things I dislike with O2 -
- the numpty advisors - who believe like robots... do they ever listen.
- the only way to sort something out with O2 is write a letter... on the way to get the deal I bagged £125 credit and a blue tooth headset aswell!0
