Just rang them to get pac code and low and behold they have offered me sony ericsson k850i or Samsung g600 for £25 per month 600 mins X network and 1500 text per month. 18 month contract though which I didn't want, not gone for it yet but wavering!!

How much more would anyone suggest I pay to have a 12 month contract? Just don't like the idea of being tied for 18 months, bit long if i don't get on with the phone!

I'd go for that because when I come off the phone to O2 at 12pm today I came away with my PAC code as they wouldn't offer that phone with a similar deal

Thats what i was thinking, going to go to a mobile phone shop and have a play with the phones to make up my mind. The guy said the offer was good for 7 days so have a bit of time.

I just don't like being tied into an 18 month contract. I had been looking on the phones 4 u site where you get upto 11 months cashback on a 12 month contract. Admittedly more expensive and I am a bit wary about cashback as I know you pay up front and then send in your bills at certain periods to get the cheques back..........but its still a 12 month contract with a decent phone.

Decisions decisions!! Will have to sleep on it and listen to you guys!!:A

I just renewed my contract. Was a 500mins/500texts for £20pm on a 12 month contract. Also got a K800i and £50 credited to my account.

This year I got the same but no credit and a SE W850i.

By the looks of things I could have done a lot better. Should I call again?

O2 called me when my contract was running out and gave me a renewal contract of 1000 xnetwork anytime mins and 500 msgs for £20. I'm pretty happy with that.

I started out 2 years ago with 200 mins and 500 msgs for £20, so I can't complain!

why do these thing never happen to me? :( My contract 'expired' in June - no call/better offer etc. May be I've been with them for far too long...

  • Hi we took out a contract phone last year 500 text and 100 min talk £25 per month we were due to cancel on the 1st it turns out we dont even use a 1/4 of this allowance so decided to go pay as you go. I phoned 02 and got

02 25 which is 25 text and 25 min which is about what we use they gave me a discount on the tarif so instead of paying £16 we pay £6 (£72 for 12 months) and they gave me a £75 credit for keeping the phone so weve got free phone for a year on top of that we got a text for 02 treats and i now have 40 extra texts for the next 3 months i think its a great deal for the low users among us!!

I think you should be able to do better sneaker. Try again and this time say its not good enough and could they please give you your pac code.

I have just done this and accepted a free k850i with 400 mins and 100 texts for £15 a month. It is on an 18 month contract, but a top phone and plenty of call time makes up for it. I'm Happy.

(I have been with 02 for about 8 years, and last year had 500 mins and 100 texts for £17.50)

how did you get that deal?
are you with O2 direct or Carphone warehouse O2??
as i just phoned cpw o2 and asked for a pac code and the deals they offered me were rubbish

also did you get the representatives name?

    thanks
