After getting nowhere with them this year (with 2 contracts to upgrade) I asked for our PACs.

I bought Tesco Mobile PAYG standard SIMs that were £5 each online (plus a bit off with Quidco) with £11 of credit on them. Arranged the port without any hassle over the phone with Tesco and this will take place this Friday.

In a few weeks I'll port from Tesco back to O2 (their coverage is the best in my area) via a deal I fancy on DAP.

It is a bit of a pain to do this, but no more than organising your cashback claims ;).

Did I read somewhere that as of August or some future month, O2 will be no longer deducting calls to 0844/0845/0870 etc from inclusive calls and charging for them? I am sure it was in some thread about people being able to break early from their contracts because of it ..... does this ring a bell with anybody else?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I upgraded in June on O2 and got a FREE Nokia N95, 1Gb SD card (with preloaded GPRS maps), 800 mins (anytime xnetwork), 200 texts, plus O2 long weekends (FREE calls Sat, Sun, Mon to any network anywhere in the UK) for £35pm.

Prior to my upgrade I was on a really old tariff some 5 years old. As I had heard people were making international calls with their inclusive minutes, I asked if 08xx numbers would be included? The kind lady said they were no longer included on new contracts or upgrades (after April?) but she would put me on an older tariff so they would be included! She kindly put me on a Q1 tariff as opposed to the new Q2 tariffs. I have been using an 0844 access number to make calls to India and America (land line and mobile) for free all of July!! I check my unbilled calls everynight, heres a snippet:

    0844xxxxxxxx Off Peak. 50min 15secs 0.000 Free
    0844xxxxxxxx Peak. 43mins 21secs 0.000 Free
    0844xxxxxxxx Off Peak. 22mins 19secs 0.000 Free
    0844xxxxxxxx Off Peak. 18mins 40secs 0.000 Free
    0844xxxxxxxx Off Peak. 16mins 09secs 0.000 Free

I've blanked the 0844 access number above as i'm not sure if i'm allowed to mention it.

Very please with my O2 upgrade and price :rotfl:

Am due an upgrade anytime now and thought I'd give customer services/retentions a ring.

    1st problem...
What number can you contact them on now?
I've tried 202, a couple of 0800 numbers, a couple of 0870 numbers and a landline 0161 number, all found with search on this forum.

All numbers just go dead, so have they changed recently or shouldn't I be calling at 10pm on a saturday night:eek:

the 08706007102 number just worked for me. Perhaps they just bar the number when the call centres are shut.

I was 1 day too early ringing them up to upgrade so ill try again tomorrow

Bitten the bullet and upgraded, there was still benefit to me - although not as good as the past 2 years. By staying with them - maybe 12 months time, they will be more generous!

Signed for another year with o2 with the same deal as last year:

    500mins/500texts with 1MB data usage for £20per month for 12 months. I chose a free K800i Silver.

Had to call twice as the first lady was not budging, but John the second time round was very helpful and offered me the above deal.

Would you mind telling me what you said to get that deal again?? I have the same deal at present but I'm worried they are going to tell me I have to pay £35 now. If so I will be cancelling.

Also. My 1st year ended at the end of sept. But I upgraded at end of august. So does my 2nd year end at the end of august when I got my upgrade or at end of september when the original contract end date is?
    How very confusing.

I will probably cancel anyway as I want the iphone and won't be out at end of sept. Plus it will be very unlikely for them to giveme £20 for 500 mins, 500 texts, and a sparkly new iphone even if it is on preorder.
