I would hope you could cancel after all they will be breakig their terms. I would ring consumer direcrt though and check with them
Thank you for your reply. I would hope I would be able to cancel (don't know if they'd make me return my handset!!) but as you say, I'd have to check independently also. I hope they don't try to fob me off with a higher monthly payment but a one off 'adjustment' to compensate (ie giving me a few months free then 10 at a higher rate). I'll see what they come back with. Who knows, maybe they'll even have fixed whatever incompatability there is in the systems!! Cheers. If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.0 -

March
I upgraded to 600 xnet anytime minutes and 900 texts for £35 per month, minus a 20% loyalty reward, making it £28 per month on an 18 month contract. Later in the month I spoke to customer services reference data bolt-on’s and was advised there was a Data 75MB bolt-on for £21.74 per month. I added that.
April
The data bolt-on and loyalty reward were not showing on my bill and I had lots of data charges. I rang customer services and was advised that Data 75MB was no longer in use for personal customers and that I had been misinformed. I was advised that I could add Data 36MB to my account at £14.50 (ex VAT) per month which I did, and was told that I would be credited with the data usage I had been billed for as a goodwill gesture.
May
The reimbursed data costs were applied to my bill as promised. However my bill had a 400 text bolt-on showing, and no loyalty reward. I was advised that my tariff had been messed up and the text bolt-on would be removed, the cost reimbursed on my next bill, and the loyalty reward added.
June
I called customer services again as the loyalty reward had still not been applied (it actually was showing on the bill, but for a value of £0.00) and was told it would be reapplied on my next bill.
July
Customer services called me and advised that the loyalty reward had not worked again for some reason. They have however added it manually, backdated to April. This is showing on my in-month usage so I know it’s been done. However customer services now need to talk to the IT department to find out if the loyalty reward is incompatible with my tariff. If it is incompatible they say I will need to change to a different tariff of similar cost and giving me similar mins and texts.
Where do I stand if the proposed tariff change costs me more a month, or gives me less mins and texts? Has anyone else experienced this much of an issue? My last correct bill was back in March, and although corrections and reimbursements are carried out, something else always seems to need fixing! Customer services are always friendly and helpful but it's a big hassle!!

Does anyone know what are terms for cancelling the upgrade contract, under the 14-day peace of mind.
My current contract was ending Aug 2nd and I upgraded for another 12 mths on July 3rd. However N73 they sent me, never reached me. Parceline/O2 are still investigation.
Does the 14-day start when I receive the phone (or) day I upgraded my contract?.0 -
Hi, just got off the phone to 02.
I have been on the 18 mth online tariff (750 mins and 750 texts-£35) and upgrade was due.
They have offered me nokia 6300 on another 18 month tariff for £20 month for 12 months and then £35 months for next 6 months (although i can upgrade on the 15th month).
And i will be getting £100 cashback.
May not be the best offer in the world but ive been paying £35 a month for the last 18 months and have the crappest phone on earth samsung s500i.
My 08 numbers, rollover mins and free voicemail will continue-and that was part of the reason I went for it.Respond to every call that excites your spirit.0 -

I have read few have got £100 cashback and also a handset. I thought you either get the £100 cashback if you don't need a new handset. Or do they give £100 cashback if you take a 18m contract?.0 -

My sister got a Samsung d900i AND £100 credit, that was on a 24 month contract (though when the contract arrived it said 18 month so not sure which one it is)0 -
Hi,
He definately said I'll be getting the phone AND the cashback. It could be because I took a 18 Month contract.

Been told this is where I should ask this. Ok first of my current situation:
6 years with o2 on £15 month sim only contract 100 anytime minutes (only o2 and landlines) 600 texts. I try to stick to this don't tend to go above £20 but do hold out on holidng other mobiles as is expensive.
I want a k810i (i did want k800i but now thats been super seeded)
I want to keep my existing number
I don't want to go above £20 ideally
Contacted o2 and they offered me:
£20 K810i 200 anytime any network minutes 400 texts 24 month contract
£25 K810i 200 anytime any network minutes 400 texts 18 month contract
(Please note this is the new sim only tariff but with a K810i)
What do people think? Can I get/do better? If I ring up and ask to cancel will I definitely be transfered to retentions or can the first person I speak to cancel my contract?
Will be grateful for any help, thanks0 -

go for the 18 month deal as you will be locked into tarriff without any changes downwards for 12 months on a 24 monther, o2 bring new tarrifs out quarterly and not being able to move for 12 months could be a major downfall for you when they eventually stop doing the Telefonica spectrum of tariffs getting worse & worse and go into full reversal cycle, if they had offered me a free contract for 24 months id still have left, shambolic customer care.........but if your happy with the above offers more power to you, I think its a terrible offer compared to what new customers can get for 30.00 with Voda, Orange, 3 or T-mobile for 18 monthswith much better handsets but if you think its a good deal suiting your needs - albiet overpriced then go for it, personally i'd PAC outSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... I can upgrade next week, at the moment I'm on the online 750 (750 mins/750 texts £35pm), ideally I want the N95 but don't want to pay extra for it as in the last 4 months I've spent nearly £400 on bills and always above £50 previously.
If that £100 cashback thing is true then I'd not mind getting the K810i and the cashback but is that too greedy?
What do you guys reckon?:beer:0
