O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

Hi All,
I am currently on the old O2 tariff of 400mins 100 txt for £35 per month (via store, 12mth). I upgraded in the middle of May to a SE K800i which Im quite happy with. Received a letter from O2 this morning saying that I'm entitled to a free upgrade or £75 credit on my account.
I telephoned the 0800 number given on the letter and spoke to a very nice lady who said I was very lucky and could still have the 2nd upgrade (potentially this means I would have 2 new handsets within the last 6wks).
She fired off all sorts of offers at me, even a sim only deal at 400min 500txt for £20 pm which apparently is on a 30day contract. However, if I were to take one of these deals offered I would lose my free non-geographical numbers, which are included in my current tariff. I use 0844 quite a lot to call my mother who lives abroad for example.
What would you all do? Would you take the 2nd new handset and lose your non-geographical allowance or leave things as they are?0 -
all those people who are looking for good deals, phone the retentions team on 0870 6007102. I called up and without argument was offered the same deal as last year: SIM ONLY 500xnet, 500 txt for £20 a month plus £100 credit.
If I wanted a phone they wouldnt budge from lower than £30 a month though ...0 -
O2 retentions are driving me crazy. Each day I call up thy provide different information on my tariff.
I called up today and they mention I have been put in O2 250 + 100 plan, which gives
250 mins (Rollover)
100 txts (Rollover) + 100 promo texts (No Rollover)
Free Voicemail
£35/mth and 12 mths half price.
Does anyone know if the above tariff actually exists??
Depends on the tariff version, because they have brought new ones in it's hard to tell which version your on.
If it's the old O2 250 then you will get 250 x net mins that roll over, 100 txts that can be used for sms or mms 1 mms = 4 sms ) no roll over, free voice mail and 100kb of gprs data every month
You must be on the dise billing platform as 1/2 price line rental in this form only exists on this platform, unless..... god even i have lost track of the different versions since i left
If thats the case then you should have been able to get the O2 500, 500 mins and 100 txts with free voice mail with the half price line rental.0 -

Thanks Alex. Yes, I am in dise billing platform. 250 Plan sounds as you say. But does that cost £35/mth or £30/mth?. I got 2 different answers from Customer care.
Next time, I will try asking then for the O2 500, afterall, I was on O2 500 before. Any idea if I can get K810i free on this tariff after half price discount. I was initially offered N73/W880i/W850i/K800i/W610i on O2-250.0 -

o2 dont do half price line rentals any more
what is the dise platform?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
I have just upgraded my contract and dont believe i got a bad deal on second call.
i had a cashback deal costing me £15 a month for 12 months for 250 mins 100 txt last year with e900 phone.
Now i have 400 mins 500 txt on 18 month contract discounted at £20 p/m for term and i was offered a selection of phones and opted for the nokia E65 instead of N73 as i prefer the slide to a full phone
Personally i dont think my deal was a bad one and i could have pushed for more but was satisfied with what i got.
I was ready to move to three on there £20 for life talker option but there phones really weren't what i wanted so i am glad i didnt have to push it at all on this occassion.

Yep, O2 are desperate.
Spent 42 minutes pushing tariffs at me, I had no intention of staying with such a poor company but it was fun visuallizing them practically pulling their hair out trying to keep me. Got to ridiculous levels where they were even matching '3's tariffs, 2000 mins with 750 SMS for £35. I said I'd think about it and call them back the next day.
Phoned up next day with the iron fist this time, PAC in 2 mins and told them where to stuff it (OK I didn't say that but they got the picture and have now lost my custom permenantly).
But they did tell me they've started 30 day contracts with 1 month notice 'Just this week'. Yeah yeah so whether it's actually true or not, but I've heard others talking about it so maybe it's right.
H.Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0 -

3 do have the E65 on the £20 Talker but you would have had to pay £49.99 for it0 -

The problem is the re-did all the tariffs last year so that the O2 250 which was £35 pm became £30pm and got called the O2 30 Plan, this is what leeds to a lot of confusion.
It should be a lot clearer for the agent as your on the dise platform, the tarffis are labled a lot better and it does state the price with in the tariff tab, but this depends on when the agent joined, if there a old timer they will know of the older tariffs where as newer staff do not get told of the old tariffs.
ps i do not know if you could get the handset you want, i have not worked there for some time so no idea what subs level the handset is or what band you fall into, for all i know they could have changed a lo of the subs levels.
It would be best speaking to them0
