O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

i was on the online 500 tariff i think, which was £35 for 750 mins & 750 txts where i was getting 50% extra of each inc in this, that i was never anywhere near using.
i was originally offered to stay on the same deal but get the first 12 months for £25 which would then go back up to £35 for the next 6 months at least + a new phone. i rejected this as i am trying to get all my costs down and did not want to be paying the extra £10/ month for mins and txts that i never use.
i've now dropped to 500 mins & 500 txts for £25 + new w850i (my phone of choice) on a 12 month instead of 18 month deal which i was on originally.0 -
I called retensions yesterday- told them I wanted at least 100 minutes and 100 texts for £20 per month with the Nokia E65 (cause I can get better than that with 3 with the £100 Quidco cashback).
Best he could do was £25/month- I think he gave me 200 mins or something. Got my pac code and I'm moving to 3- you just get so much more- video minutes, 3 alerts etc... O2 seem to have lost their edge- always thought they were best value.0 -
well I've rang upgrades over the weekend and been offered 200 mins 400 texts for £25 per month with the U600 at 19.99. Not good enough, considering I currently get that much for £15, AND I have another account with them.
my upgrade date isn't until middle of May so I'm going to leave it til then and ring retentions. Come on 02, this just isn't good enough! I was told by the bloke on the phone that the discounts system had been abolished in response to current customers complaining that new customers got better deals, so now they're offering everyone the same.
No rewards for loyalty apparently....0 -

Don't know why people perservere with O2 but having said that I did for years. Then I moved to "3" where I get 400 mins plus 250 texts for zero squids per month via Simply 3G and cashback. Cashback works as long as you follow the rules.
Three network seems fine and they have abolished roaming charges too.
I got £22 via Quidco so in total I have been paid £22 for 400 mins, 250 texts and a new phone!
Will be moving my wife and daughter also when their O2 contracts expire.Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0 -
Hi
I’m currently with O2….have been for about 4 or 5 years now. I’ve always managed to get a decent upgrade every time I’ve been due one, and I think the most I’ve had to pay for a handset has been £40.
I’m currently on an online tariff….500 off peak mins/500 texts/50 anytime mins for £20 a month….which is ideal for me.
I’m after the Nokia N95 now, and the cheapest deal they can do me, is £35 a month and paying £90 for the phone.
I rang them yesterday and they couldn’t offer me anything as the phone was out of stock so I’ve requested my PAC code.
I’ve found a deal through fones4free.com which in on Orange Dolphin 35 tariff. £35 a month, 500 free anytime mins / unlimited texts / magic number 18month contract, AND best of all the N95 is absolutely free !!!
Sounds too good to be true, so I rang them and was told that its exactly as it reads….no hidden catches like cashback vouchers or discounted line rental for a set period or that.
Was just after a bit of advice as to whether people thought this was a good deal….it appears it is to me. Its more than I’m paying now a month, and probably a bit more than I would like to pay a month….but I’ve just had my landline taken out as I was hardly using it so I need to switch to something that has free anytime minutes anyways rather than just off peak which I have at the mo.
Please let me know what you think about this deal / company.
Are there any risks I should be aware of taking a deal from somewhere other than the network provider directly ??
So hacked off with O2…they don’t seem bothered about keeping their customers.......O2….see what you can do……..get yer PAC code and go elsewhere. !!
Thanks in advance.0 -
I've just requested my PAC too but I also emailed their director and have since had high level complaints contact me. They've offered me a better deal but I'm still contemplating and looking at my options.0

After sending a letter to terminate my contract after 2 years with O2, I received a call last night and am offered 600 mins off peak/month for 12 months for free - no credits on my bill, no cashbacks, simply free - nothing to pay for 12 months.0

My contract ends at the end of May - currently on 200 anytime mins, 400 texts for £15/month (great deal given to me by retentions last year). They made no real effort to keep me, offered me 100 mins and 100 texts for £15/month, 12 month contract with 7 months free. No new phone.
Requested my PAC code and will be moving back onto a cashback contract with someone else0 -

yeah I was on 300 minutes for £15 now offering me poor phone and £30 for 200 minutes, very poor indeed, just got my pac and now off to t-mobile or Three.
I use to praise O2 but they have gne downhill. My partner whos a high value customer will also be leaving because of this.0
