Best way to negotiate with Retentions is try to speak to 5/6 different staff on different days. Chances are someone will offer something better then the other staff.

    All staff are different.

My update - not emailed the CEO yet as I was saving that as ammunition for later on. But today I called 02 customer services asking for an update on the email that the store had sent and asked to be put through to retentions - who refused to speak to me!

Then I went into the store, who said that they had to email someone higher up, and would let me know.

Basically, I was mis-informed by the store and have signed up to a new contract I would not have wanted as a result. So I am really angry about it, especially as I said to the store "I won't lose my discount if I do this, will I?" - and they assured me not!

  • Tried O2 retentions today- been on a O2 200 contract for the last year at £17.00 a month.
Wanted to upgrade to a nokia N73- but the best they could offer was 400 mins @£30 a month- is it worth persisting or should I ask for my PAC code- I can almost get an N95 for that from elsewhere. ?

This might seem like an odd question, but is it possible to phone the retentions department too early in your contract?

I'm nearing the end of my present contract (just over a month to go), and wondered if I should be phoning early, or do I have to wait until exactly a month before the end date on my contract?

I finally managed to get a deal I was after, contract aint up until next month but phoned a couple of times last week to no avail but got a nice girl today who offered me 500xnet mins and 500texts for £25 with free w880i handset.

N95 is out of stock until end of month and K810i is not out until end of may so may use 14 day cool off period on phone and try get N95 when it is back in stock.

Not too bad, I found that by speaking to different people on different days you eventually get the deal you are after.

Best deals i was offered were

600xnet mins 1000 texts and long weekends for £35p/m
    400xnet mins 750 texts for £30p/m
    500xnet mins 500 texts for £25p/m

All offered with w880i free or N95 at £89. Not really shifting on N95 price for contracts under £50p/m. Hope this helps

Be brave and go as far as receiving your PAC. I've had phonecalls after I received the PAC to try and keep me to stay. Currently on 200xnet mins 500 txt for £15p/m

    Good luck
