Diamonds, before you give up...try giving O2 retentions a ring and without asking to leave just ask simply if you can continue with the same contract as you have now.
i.e. 750 Mins/ 400 Txts / 12 Month.
Should be ok...
Let us know!!0 -
with respect to my last post.... well, i have 14 days to try it out and if i dont like it i can send it back etc. do u think if i call up retentions during the 14day trial period and ask them for my pac they will go any lower or will they tell me to get on my bike lol. would like line rental to come to £15 ideally or £20, do u think if i tell em to knock off 200 or 300 texts from my 500 texts they might do that?
I was on the 500mins/400 txts tariff (£15 p/m)for the last two yrs, came to upgrade n was told i could keep the same tariff.. wasnt actually done properly on their systems and it went through as 500mins/500 txts for £25 a month...
annoyed as hell I complained and wrote to customer relations claiming i was misrepresented the contract and induced into entering... got a fone call back from High level cust relations and they offered me the tariff for £20 instead...
i declined and left..... now with Three. I think for you to get it down to £15 would be seriously hard work! try push for twenty citing another deal elsewhere, might help?SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24

I did try that aswell instead of the offer above - it was a no-no, £15 discount ends in 2 months then i'll be £35 for my tariff without a discount, I can upgrade now get 2 x £20 & 10 x £35 a new phone
( downgrade more like from my N73 , already have a K800i aswell so no handset o2 are offering is an upgrade ) or no phone £100 credit 2 x £20 10 x £35
go figure, its crap !, they wont even take into consideration my 9 months without an upgrade due to thier error either, im so angry at at them for all thier mistakes
seems the o2 bods that joined the thread months ago have read up really well, perhaps they can read the following aswell and tighten up customer care as they have done retentions.......
I had a manager agree my 12 month discount 750 with N95 free upgrade eventually after looking into my upgrade error, called to see if 11th was still my delivery date to be told you not getting that agreed deal ( for the second time ! ) and tried sell me a 18 month'er I declined spoke to a manager and they said no way, its in my notes the deal but im not getting it - 18 month on £35 and £90 for handset, ive tried every ave with them but nope, they can kiss my !!! and look forward to a suing because there is no doubt that ofcom will rule in my favour and thats great 4 courtroomthey stuck me in a further 5 months contract cause one of thier muppets upgraded me instead of issuing a replacement ( the second 3g handset o2 released was Dec 05 - Nokia N70 @ £30 not free ) for my 5 month contract with no 3G phone as I had 2 Samsung Z500's both faulty and I had to wait 5 months for o2 release the handset N70 with no handset for the 5 months, and when I was meant to be compensated for the 5 months with no 3G handset as customer care said in Aug 05 I was billed £30 for replacement handset and told no compensation as I could have took a 2G phone!! i took a 3g phone cos I wanted a 3G service !!! " tuff " was the answer back from customer care, Ive had endless problems apart from that ( N70 was faulty too and I pushed for free insurance on my discount 750 & got it to be told it wont show up as its free but its there ) my insurance didnt exist and trying get the N70 fixed outside UK - impossible faulty handset for 7 months, eventually returned handset to UK cost £175 with insurance ( o2 later credited my account £200, was to compensate me all the errors and 50% of that was suppossed to cover the courier, which it didnt ) via courier but they would not pick it up from anywhere but my home address! DUH! im abroad !!! ( eventually got N73 replacement in Nov last year when home for holiday cos N70 discontinued due to major problems!, they didnt want N70 back it was that bad, great expensive looking paperwieght it makes, even at my insistance to collect from home address they said bin it!?! ), o2 messed up my d/d and account was cancelled, billing issues, premuim texts I did not request from them and other - no help at all from them even when o2 website states we will give you the 3rd party company details, I couldnt even sort out the other issues as I had left UK by the time the o2 complaints guy called my mobile, on return I went to PAC out & they convinced me to stay with lies, i get the deal honoured then cancelled again! TWICE its happened !!

Diamond do as I did and write to:

Make it a stern letter and state that you were induced into "upgrading" and therefore misrepresented.
If you feel it was done innocently in error then you can ask for the contract to be rescinded, or if you feel you were fraudulently induced then you can ask for the contract to be rescinded and ask for damages aswell.
I found the people there were helpful ... regardless of if you want to leave them or notSLC: £13000+

I am really angry and I wonder if anyone here can help.
I have been on the 02 discount 500 at half price since February 2005. On January 31st this year I went into the 02 shop and casually asked what phones I could get if I wanted to upgrade. I told the shop that I only wanted to upgrade if I could keep EXACTLY the same tarriff, including the half price part. They said it wouldn't be a problem, did an upgrade, and all was fine. For a while.
When my April bill arrived, it had doubled. The half price discount was gone. I rang 02 and they said there was nothing I could do and that I was not eligible because I had upgraded. Then someone in retentions (I spoke to two people) said that the offer was only meant to last a year (if that was the case then how come it didn't end when I upgraded rather than four months later?). They said I was no longer allowed it as I had signed a new contract, but I explained that I had been very concerned about losing the tarriff in the shop and so had made sure that this would not happen. The lady even said "Wow, that is a really good tarriff - I would not want to lose it either".
Retentions said that the shops aren't allowed to offer half price deals like that but I said that it's not my job to know who at 02 is allowed to do what, and they said I would have to get the shop to email them. So I rang the shop and they were quite helpful and said they would email retentions, but I've not heard anything since. And the bill is due next Monday so I would like to get it sorted before then. Any advice would be appreciated.
And be really careful if you upgrade!0 -

They have offered me 200 mins and 100 texts for £20 a month + a choice of either a SE w810i, w850i or k800i.
Is this a good deal?0 -
