O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

Just a note to say, when you get your first bill after upgrading, check it carefully.
At end August my tariff went down from £20 to £15 on discount 500, with 400 free texts (thanks Matrix).
But when the bill came through my monthly charge had gone up to £23, and I was charged for all texts in Sept (the tariff clearly said bolt-on 400, but apparently it hadn't been activated - which in itself is strange, since up to changing to discount 500, I had free texts anyway).
I am told that this has now been rectified and the overpayment will be credited back to my account next month, but I will be checking carefully when the bill comes through.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

I had the same problem but it has now sorted itself out.0 -

Hi all,
I am in my second year as an O2 online customer my contract will be up in first week of January. I am on £20 a month tariff. Do I have any chance of these offers ? Also want to upgade my phone to the K750i if possible. Where is the 3 £15 a month 500xnet anytime 500 texts tariff that people are talking about advertised ?
Thanks in advance

Did Graham take a note of the advisors name or Ext number? As maybe if he spoke again to the original advisor they would have remembered what he was offered.
The only other option i can think of is to say "unless I can get the phone for Free like I was assured of when it came in stock i'm just going to leave O2 now" You could maybe ask for a quick work with the advisors Supervisor to see if he/she could maybe swing it for you.
Let me know how you get on!
Really annoyed with O2 on this. He did get the advisor's name and threee times we asked to speak to him. Once we were told he wasn't there but he would phone later - as always happens he did not phone. Once we were told "never heard of him, must be in a different call centre" and lastly he was there but was unavailable to speak to.
One advisor asked her supervisor but no go. Each one said he should never have been offered it FOC as his spend level wasn't high enough. Two people said it was normally £79.99 and we had been given a £50 discount already as well as a very good tariff (which is true).
Graham has taken it at £29.99 as he doesn't want to lose the tariff although is annoyed at having to pay when the first advisor made a mistake in not noting it down. He wants me to write to the complaints department which I suppose won't do any harm.0 -
Well I am now in month12 and I rang up asking for my Pac code as I was leaving for 3
Best they could offer me was 500 xnet for £20 plus 100 texts for £5 with three months free rental and a crappy handset.
So I am now waiting for my Pac code to come through
I'll give them a week and try again.
Cheers, Des.0 -
Shouldn't take too long to come through. O2 did my son's instantly over the phone!
I'm waiting for mine via Vodafone - that might take a little longer!
Just wondering if all the good deals are now done with and there'llbe more later this month/next month. I see Nokia have two new handsets coming out so does SE plus others - build up to Christmas I suppose.0 -

You should be able to get a good retentions deal, just give them a call and they will talk you through whats on offer..Remember and say you have found a better deal with three and there offering 500 X Network Mins and Texts.
The advisor should then offer you the Discount 500 Tariff0 -

I suppose you could write to the complaints dept and see how you get on, but again at the end of the days its your work against theres.
They may honour the price of free to retain good customer service.
Hope you get lucky!0
