I complained to customer services re:- 0870 number and was told to dial 100 from o2 handset. This then goes straight through to CS, costs you nothing and you can access retentions from there via the menu.0

Which option did you choose from the menu?
Is this for an offline tariff - i.e. stores? I thought online contracts were charged for CS calls.0 -

Admittedly I have an offline tariff and I complained that I had tried contacting them via email and received a reply back to call the 0870 number!
Interestingly below is from the o2 website and is seems the charges for the 0870 nos. are the same, so I don't see why they should charge differently for attempting to call CS using the hotkey facility but you never know.

When you dial 100, you still get the usual menu offered. To get straight through to retentions, choose option 2 then option 2 again.
Interestingly, I called today and got offered the discount 500 option for £12.50 a month (I was on a very old tariff 50 mins to O2 and landlines only for £14 a month). They have also thrown in free itemised billing, and because I didn't want a new phone they have given me a credit of £100. Fantastic now works out at £5 per month. Many thanks MSE.0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm currently on O2. I bought my P900 around 2 years ago in store and stuck
to it ever since. Got a replacement a couple of months ago in form of p910 as the p900 broke. My contract expired 11 months ago but I do like the O2
service and want to stick to it. I don't want a phone upgrade as this phone
does eveything that I could wish for (except for good pics but i guess that
I just can't have everything). From what I read, I know that O2 will offer me a cashback. I'm away for most of the year ie. I come back to UK once every 3 months or so for 3 weeks and because of that I downgraded my contract to the lowest one possible (£16 for 20 mins cross net or something like that). Because of that, my bills are around £50 once ever 3 months and after that only 16. Keeping this in mind
what's the best possible deal that I can get? Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Raphael0 -
After moving to the discount 500 tariff, I also found out earlier this month that I was still being charged £25 per month, yet I had also been charged sepeartely for all of my texts, meaning a bill of around £38.
Expecting to only pay £15 (the price I was told the discount 500 deal would be), I phoned up o2 and complained. The person I talked to put the bill into dispute, and sorted out the mess.
However the amazing thing, is that the texts weren't showing up as being part of my new tariff (even though I'd confirmed this with 3 different people at o2 previously), and even more amazingly, I was told that the discount 500 tariff isnt actually £15 per month, it's a £15 discount (per month) off my original tariff.
Therefore even though I agreed on £15 per month for 500 anytime anynetwork minutes and 400 texts (discount 500 deal), this has now changed to £10 per month!?
As previous posters have said on this thread, keep your eyes on your bill everyone! Seems as though o2 are having a bit of fun with this one...0 -
I fancy an O2 Xda 11i as an upgrade, my current contract is £25 per month and runs out 15th Nov, do you think I have much chance of a good deal?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

YES you should get a good deal - hold out for 500mins and at least 100 text for £15 - they may try and wriggle out of it but if you stick to your guns you should get it - My phone bills have gone down from £60 per month to just over £16 :j0

How should I go about getting a good deal. I have been with O2 for 11 years on pay and go and put about £10 on per month. I would love to go on to the £15 tariff you are all talking about. What number should I phone and what should I say?
Thanks0 -

You can phone the O2 PAYG Retentions Team and ask them to put you on to the Call Bolt on 500 Tariff..This gives 500 Anytime X Network Mins for a top up of £23.50 per month. No Texts though0
