O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

Hi Matrix,
I spoke to you earlier in the month. I called O2 today and said what you told me to say as they told me to wait till today to sort it out. The first woman I spoke to (can't remember her name) offered me 500 anyone anytime mins and 200 texts for £19 a month because she didn't think I'd use all the texts. Then she changed it to £15 a month. She didnt even mention a new phone. I didn't like her, lol. So I said I'd think about it.
So I called back a few mins later and spoke to a guy called Steve. He's offered me the discount 500 tariff (the 500 anyone anytime mins and 400 texts that lots of people on here seem to have managed to get) and SE K750i for £15 a month. Though he said it's out of stock right now and they're expecting it back in early next week. So he's put a note on my account stating what was agreed and I've to call back next week when it's in stock, and they can put it through then. So I quite liked him because he gave me what I wanted, lol. I tried to get a free bluetooth headset out of it, but he said they didn't do them on upgrade. I just though I'd try anyway, just for the sake of it.
Oh while I remember, how does the discount 500 tariff work? I've noticed some people saying something about the texts, like with regards it being 500 or 400. Something about it being 400, but you get the other 100 refunded every 3 months or something. Could you please clear this up matrix or anyone else that knows.
Thanks again for all your help.

Hi Graham!!
Good on you for getting the Discount 500 tariff!!
The text messages you talk about is called loyalty texts..Basically if O2 have allowed you this then every 3 months the text messages over what you have actually been allocated are refunded back to you.
So for example if they said you have 100 loyalty texts then and 400 free texts, you will get 100 texts refunded every 3 months if you go above the 400 texts.....
Hope that makes sence.. Its a tad to early in the morning just now

Hello Echo,
I remember speaking to you around 20 September about you wanting to switch plans but you were on PAYG.
So, you called customer services they transfered you to Retentions you think and the Advisor there said he couldn't match the tariff???
Thats very strange, the tariff you should be asking for is called Call Bolton500 which is 500 Anytime Any Network Mins for £23.50 per month with NO TEXTS INCLUDED!!!
Remember as a PAYG Customer you can't go for the Discount 500 Tariff as this is only available to Pay Monthly Customers as far as i know however if you go back through the post i do believe someone mentioned that they got the Discount 500 tariff even though they were on PAYG!
If that person is reading this please can they advise further of what exactly you did to get moved from PAYG to Pay Monthly!0 -

that is true and i've been following the posts until now.one earlier post had said that when u ring that number u ask 2 b transferred 2 CS cos that is a business line.nobody even mentioned the fact and yes as far as i was aware the guy was transferring me over 2 CS who wud try and match it.i rang back when i realised summat was up and spoke 2 a diff guy who went on2 say wot he wud b able 2 offer me and no way cud match wot i'd told him i'd been offered-then told me 2 ring that other number.i NEED my txts and can use over 300 a mth.the mins i need cos it's costing me a fortune keeping in touch with the kids ( both on 02) even using 1899 and a new fone wud b nice cos i'm still using my 3510i0 -
OK all, here's my input...
Been o2 foreeeeeeeeeeever, but currently PAYG & asking what they can do for me!!
Samsung e720 or Sony k750i offered (wanted Sam d600)
£30/mth 18mth = 300min 750 text
12mth = 200min 500 text
£25/mth 18mth = 150min 750 text
12mth = 100min 500 text
Looks like they're tempting me with texts I won't use!! So not a good deal - better off on line or in their stores - so much for trying to keep a customer!!
I'll wait a bit longer for the d600 to be flooding the market, I think, then try again!!

Hi matrix,
Any suggestions on this one please?
My son(graham17) told you about his deal made last Wednesday which included a free K750. He was told the K750 was out of stock that day so to phone back. He phoned back this morning and was told it was now in stock and it was £29.99! Despite being told it was agreed as FOC they won't budge as it said nothing on the notes apart from an SE phone. They even said it should be £79.99 for his monthly spend level and he had been offered a good deal on the tariff as well as an extra £50 off.
Can we get them to honour their original offer or should he accept the charge?0 -

This is a very grey area..To be totally honest with you if the advisor who your son originally spoke to has not put the details of the deal on his account notes then there is no proof that he was actually offered the deal. Did Graham take a note of the advisors name or Ext number? As maybe if he spoke again to the original advisor they would have remembered what he was offered.
The only other option i can think of is to say "unless I can get the phone for Free like I was assured of when it came in stock i'm just going to leave O2 now" You could maybe ask for a quick work with the advisors Supervisor to see if he/she could maybe swing it for you.
Let me know how you get on!0 -

Hello,
Sorry its taken me a while to reply. I've been at work all day.
I'm going to do you a favour.. I have an e-mail address for one of the advisors at O2 Retentions in Preston who i have been getting to know well. I will run your enquiry by him and let you know what he says.0
