Best I can get out of them is:

    500 anyone/time mins
    500 texts
    Nokia N73

Either free phone and £30 per month OR £59.99 phone and £25 per month (which of course equates to the same).

Last year I got 500/500, free Nokia N70, £25 per month after a lot of haggling (originally I was offered phone for £129.99) so I'm holding out for £25 per month and free phone (ie. essentially the same deal). They will give me 500/500 and free Nokia 6300 but I don't want that as I use TomTom Mobile sat nav which isn't supported on that phone.

Anyone else got any advice on how to haggle for the best deal - I already played the hand of asking for PAC code, which they gave me yesterday (but that didn't stop them slightly improving the deal today)

    Thanks in advance, Tony

Am I worth nothing to O2?!?!

I rang them today through the normal customer service number 0870 6007102 and they were pretty hopeless. I was on online 50 last year £20/month for 500 text and 50 mins. A year ago I got this down to £15 month.

Its now been another year and I really need a new phone, and I want a pretty decent one (SE K800i). Now bare in mind this has been out for a while and isn't "cutting edge". So I rang up first time they said I can have it but my line rental would revert to £20 month....

I then find I can get it from dial-a-phone on T-Mobile Flex for £15 month (after cashback). Si I rang O2 armed with this and asked for my PAC code. She asked me why I was leaving and exlained I could stay with them for £20 month and get 75mins and 75 texts! I tried telling her thats worse than what I have now! Then she said Ok, Ill send you your PAC code and that was that.

I appreciate at £15 month I'm hardly a great moneymaker for them, but is that it? Last year when I rang they had to put me through to another department for Cancellations/Retentions, but this time it was the same lady all the way through. (Do o2 have Asian call bentres btw, sounded like it?)

Anyway, any advice, or should I take it as O2 clearly don't see me as worthwhile anymore? To be honest I like their service and would prefer to stay than go in with T-Mobile...

So anything else I can do or is that it? Any advice thanks

Sorry Tony, I was stupid and typed £20 instead of £25. Still think £25 for that tarrif is great, won't get that now especially on a 12 month contract, and no cashback hassle.

Maybe the N73 costs them more than the K800? She was quite happy to give me the K800 at that price. Keep holding out I'd say, dpends on who you speak to..

If your on the Discount 500 anyway, can you not just ring up upgrades and see if they'll give it you? Maybe retentions can see your squeezing them a little too much?

Thanks! Seen people get better but then I know I haven't been a big earner for them in the last 12 months so happy with what I got. Anyone know what this means in the o2 order tracking:

SE K800i Silver postpay NON BOND variant
    Provisioning Failed

    3G Postpay SIM
    Provisioning Failed

    RETENTION RETURN CARD
    Provisioning Failed

    O2 UK Handset Tracking Code
    Provisioning Failed

The main order status is "Order pending dispatch" but not sure what the provisioning failed means? I guess its either because the order has failed for some reason, or there is no info there because it hasn't been assembled and dispatched yet?? Hopefully the latter...
  • Is this just O2 or O2 with Carphone Warehouse as well?

As I've been with O2 Carphone Warehouse for about 6/7 years, paying £60 a month. So would prefer to get my rental down plus get a decent amount of minutes and texts.

It's O2 direct. O2 CPW have their own yeam so you would need to try and negotiate with them.

I just got the online 500 (500 mins and 500 txts) for £20 a month plus a £100 credit on my account 12 month contract.

Its not bad, but last year I was on the discount 500 tarif and it only cost me £15 but this had no txts, so for £5 more I get 500 txts.

When you speak to the people, get them to make notews on your account of the deal they offer you, I said I would ring them back and when I rang back, they wouldnt offer me the same deal, in the end they had to ring the previous operator who had offered me the deal to confirm it, which took about 20 mins.

Still I was happy with them and had no intention of leaving so I'm pretty happy.

    This is what I got:
£15 a month 12 month contract with free Nokia E65
    250mins 500txts

The price of Nokia E65 is above £200 on ebay so I will get some profit and use the line free for a year. NOT BAD:T
Oh there is no cash back or credit, just £15 DD each month.

my contract is almost up. This is my second year with them

I phoned the direct number for retentions, told him why i`m leaving as ive seen a good deal on three and i wanted the samsung D900, he said, ok, here is the address for cancellations etc....no offers/deals anything

I later phoned back, spoke to a woman, i said i`d like to keep my current contract 200 min and 200 text for £15 a month, but would like to upgrade my phone. She said, i had a discount last year and cant have it again, but she put me through to another department.

This woman said the best she can do is 500 minutes and no texts for £25 a month. I said, no thanks, im going to three for £15 a month with 500 mins, she said ok, heres the address to cancel

I dont really want to go, what else can i do do keep my present deal? or at least no more than £20 a month with a free phone, is it worth e-mailing them?

    Thanks
