Have been with o2 for only 2 years...last year was on 500mins only for £10 a mth.

    Is this a good deal?

My deal 2 weeks ago was-D900, with headset, I Pod Shuffle. 500 mins and 500 texts for £20 a month. 12 month contract. I have been with them for a year. I dont honestly think its got anything to do with how long you have been with them, its your spend at the end of the month-I was always spending over £50 with them.
As for the D900 I love it, I previously had a D600 so almost the same. Nice phone.
I am happy with this deal.

I think im gonna allow the O2 retentions tariff and go to e2save for their O2 sim only deal:
    800mins and 500txt for £12 a mth after cashback.
  • hw does the cashback work on this site? i c?ant see anywhere how to claim it, or do you just pay your 11.99 per month
  • Well, credit to O2, the email to the boss worked. I was polite, no ranting, just an honest explanation of the circumstances without being to long winded. Oh, stuck on a read receipt just in case.

Call back 24hrs later, lady very apologetic, met my original offer and even sending me the £60 headset and the memory card. I probably could have kicked up a fuss but I'm happy with my lot.

It's a real shame it had to go so far.

My advice is that when you make the call to upgrade be online at the same time. Whateve they offer you, get them to email you there and then before you accept. Either that or record the call and let them know! Looking at similar threads, the call centre staff seem to *forget* to write things down so when you complain they say they have nothing on their system.

    Good luck, don't back down.

Instead of e2save...get it from the phone spot.

    Their cashback t's & c's sound better:

We simply require your 6th, 8th, 10th then 12th airtime bills for 12 month contracts or your 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th then 18th airtime bills for 18 month contracts to arrive with us within 45 days of the date stated on the airtime bill (sending photocopies is advisable so that you can keep the originals for your records).

I like the fact that its 45 days and that they take copies...many companies are 30 days, 21 days or even 14 days with your lovely mobile rainbow.

    Plus £50 from quidco.

can someone tell me how 02 upgrades work. I rang on the 15th March as i was in month 17 of an 18 mth contract and reckoned I was due an upgrade etc. They told me no i was week out and I needed to ring today. so when i rang today I was told no I need to ring on the 21st March!!!!

    How do you upgrade?

Now the guy i spoke to was dead on and talked me through the phones i could be offered, D900, nokia 95, SE800 or the new SE880 with free speakers. Or keep the phone i have and get £100 airtime credit

I mentioned that 3 had a great wee deal @£15 for a better txt / air package than what i am on -he spoke to his supervisor and came back with £25 a month for 150 mins and 500 texts with £5 credit every month.

    Is that a good deal??
  • It depends what you want. If you want a cheaper deal then maybe try and screw em down for a few more quid off... if you arent using the minutes you have at the moment then its not worth upgrading your monthly text and mins package, I had a similar canundrum the ist time i upgraded.

i was on an anytime 50 package with 500 txts about 2 yrs ago, when i called to upgrade, they gave me the "you can have a ton cashback and no phone ... period". I said i wasnt happy and got em to put me through to customer retentions. They offerered some line that they dint have any phones and would gimmme the £100 off.

I called back about a week later and they offered my a cut in line rental by a fiver a month, and the £100 off making my tarrif £14.99 and a £100 in cashback, which theyd knock off my bill every month making the deal about a tenner a month.

Still said i wasnt happy and asked them to put their offer on my record should i decide to renew.

Again i called back a week later for another head to head which they relented and i essentially they gave me the above deal, with an extra 150 minutes per month.

So it pays to be persistent. If youve been with them for the best part of 18 months, they OWE you something for your loyalty!

The phone market has reached saturation so there arent any new customers, so they'll desperate to "help you stay".

If at the end of the day you arent satisfied, can them and go elsewhere!

    Hope this helps

    MM

Id hold out and ringem a couple of times over period of about a week.
