I've just been told they can't discount line rental to below £20. Currently I'm on Online 100 (100 mins, 500 texts) for £25 with a £15 discount = £10pcm. I realise this was a blinding deal so I wouldn't mind paying another £5 for it - they only offered it for £20 though which it just isn't worth to me. I could happily do without some/most of the texts but they didn't seem to want to play ball - we didn't even get to talking about handsets. We ended the call saying my PAC code would be sent so I can port my number to their PAYG service. This would save me money, but I would like a new phone ideally and I prefer having a contract as I can keep track of what's going on with my account. They've been putting on erroneous roaming calls (I work abroad, but don't call using this phone) in the past few months which I've checked them up on - but obviously if they put ficticious calls on my PAYG account I won't be able to see this and I'll lose out.

Has anyone had a deal under £20 stick recently? I've been with them for just over 2 years on contract and at least 4 years before that on PAYG with the same number (several years before that on PAYG too, but they won't realise that as it was a different number/account.) Would be good to be able to phone them back and say I 'know' someone who was given such and such a deal and I'll stay with them if I can have it too... ;)

To be honest I've seen people get superb deals on this thread- however ringing 02 and saying that you wish to have the same offer won't wash with them at all. Unless you get lucky and get an agent who wants to give you what virtually.

My deal was for the Online 50. I was given a discount of £10pm making it £9pm instead of £19pm. I also got a Nokia E50 which I've since sold on Ebay for £150.

What you need to do is find another network and quote some tariffs that you would move to. You may even need to phone about 3 times before you finally get the deal you want.

Hi there, hoping to get someone's opinion on the deal I've just been offered. Currently on Discount 500 @ £15 per month. Just spoke with O2 and mentioned 3s Direct talker 1000 plan for £17.50. They werent able to match that but offered 500mins/100 texts, SE K800i, 1GB memory card, 12 month contract @ £20 per month. Is this a good deal or should I push for better??

    Thanks

Yer sounds like a good deal to me, you prob would get £15 per month if you went for a 18 month contract.
    Kind Regards
    Bill

I was offered 500 mins and 900 texts for 25 quid tonight- I turned them down because they would budge over 900 texts, even when I offered them a little money for my upgrade. Not bad, but after five years not good enough in my opinion.

The number that I called was 0800 5874715.

after being told i cant have anything and my monthly price is going up by a tenner i phoned retentions at O2 and ive just got 200 x net mins & 500 text & a E900 for £15 month ... im happy, except its an 18month contract but not worried

THE CHAINS OF HABIT ARE TOO WEAK TO BE FELT UNTIL THEY ARE TOO STRONG TO BE BROKEN... :A
  • I agreed to an upgrade last week. 800 mins, 200+400 texts, £35-20% so £28 per month. I could have the D900 Chrome (Apparantly this is a really great thing!) but I asked instead of the free ipod could I have a bluetoothe headset. No probs, hey, have a memory card too.

I Couldn't refuse this offer. Until they only delivered the phone. Today I called them up to chase the Memory card and Headset to be told that these weren't written down and I couldn't have them. I was made to feel as if I was lying! I could have the headset but not the memory card. I stuck to my guns but really got no-where. Surely an offer is an offer?

No joy, even spoke to their complaints debt as I'm really annoyed at the way they spoke to me. No joy. They said they were transfering me to the elusive Retentions dept but got cut off in the process.

Has anyone got their direct number?

I'm pretty sure that a verbal contract is as binding as a written one, If i was you i would use the 14 day "cooling off" period and send the phone back and cancel the contract.
Also most companies record all the calls now so you could state that.

I have 3 months left on my contract with O2 and then i'm off!

Sick and tired of being told one thing and then something different.

My other half tried to barter a new deal with them and was sold a Nokia 5300 "£99 in cpw" at £35 per month for an 18 month term and 750 mins and 750 texts. Funny that her average calls per month were 100 minutes and 35 texts. I called and was told she as she had agreed there was nothing we could do.Funny however that when i said "OFCOM" and "Mis selling" they stepped down.
