I am offered
8:30 am on 1st March a gentleman offered me this deal
15 pound
12 months
100 minutes
100 text
Samsung D900
offpeak 1000 minutes (to O2 and land line)
(may be some text I don't bother though)
Original price at 20 pound with 10 pound discount
so it comes to 10 pound per month
If I don't take handset I will get 100 pound cashback
so in total I will be paying
120 -100 = 20 pound for a year to offpeak 1000 minutes
I occassionaly use phone in weekday but I can always pick loyalty reward 10 minutes per month free
not that bad
but I am after samsung d900 which he won't give me.
any suggestions?0 -

Hi,
Where did you take out your O2 contract, Was it the CPW or O2 Store?
If it was the CPW then they don't offer as good a deal as O2 Direct when you come through to negotiate a retention deal.0 -

I bought from mobileshop I guess
I get O2 printed on my phone bill, How can I find out who is it with you.
aaah in my conversation with the lady I was told that you can take pac code and take a new O2 contract of O2 from CPW on that pac code. but honestly I don't trust her as many people don't know how pac code works, I don't wanna be in a situation where I order a new phone and not able to transfer my number.
I am thinking of
changing it to total 120 pound for 12 months offpeak 1000.
They are not willing to give me a good phone like D900 or SE W850i like other people got, so I have to take 100 pound cashback
I really wanna a good phone and don't wanna hasstle of pac code and new contract etc.
my be I should try again tomorrow morning0 -

I have had an awful experience upgrading with O2, 3 yrs ago I was on 300 off peakmins/300 txts for £20 pm. Rang Retentions after 1st yr and was offered 500mins/400 txts with new phone for £15 p/m and I was over the moon!
Following yr rang back n asked to continue with the same tariff n I even paid £100 ontop for the N70... but thats when the cockups began. They didnt add on the 400 txts so had to call every month for a refund, eventually they added on a bolt on and credited me the cost of the bolt-ons till the end of my 12 months.. some of my bills last yr included £30-40+ call charges ontop
Then in January this yr I rang Retentions again and asked if I could stay on my original tariff (£15 for 500mins/400txts). I was told it would be fine, at the time i wanted the d900 which they quoted £109, thought way too much! was given a list of phones i could get, I wasn't too sure at the time which I wanted so I asked if it was ok to accept the tariff to be continued and call back to choose my new phone. I was told it would be ok to do so.
I called back (but only spoke to upgrades as I thought I was only ordering the phone). The guy was only too helpful to order the phone for me and I was happy. Even confirmed the tariff to him 3 times and he said that it was all correct.
Then the bill came... over £50! turns out they put me on a 500 mins tariff and didnt even cancel the txt bolt ons (which were like £18). Rang retentions n was told they had no power to change anything, had to stick with what I had n that they would arrange for the original person in retentions i spoke to call me back...
well after 3 days of waiting I heard nothing.. rang retentions and spoke to a really helpful guy... he expalined to me that they he not could listen to the call again as it was in another office. I wanted to cancel the contract, he told me that I am technically in another 12 months contract n could not leave, as I had passed the 14 days period. (Which frankly is a joke, i recvd a letter saying thankyou for upgrading but there was no mention of the tariff details etc.. the only was to find out if they did it right is to wait for the bill after the first month which obviously takes u out of the 14 day period!)
The Retentions advisor also told me what had been written in the notes (basically the deal should have been written, but wasnt!). I was put on hold for a while, while he spoke to his manager to see if he could honour the tariff I was promised, which he was told would not be possible.
I asked for the complaints address n was given the O2 Complaints Service address and I have since written to them. I am claiming that they had misrepresented the contract to me and that the false details and confirmations they gave me induced me into entering into the contract, and that the contract should on that basis be rescinded.
Hopefully they will agree and do so, really fed up with O2, really liked them, but like someone said earlier .... when ther good they are great and when ther bad they are really bad!SLC: £13000+

I had much the same problem last year when I upgraded, after months of dealing with useless customer services I called customer relations (0845 3300684), lovely women there got it sorted for me.
Might be worth a try.Sigless0 -
