Taxibear.......I got the deal as o2 retentions effectively offered me a deal, I went away to think about it, when I called back to accept they denied offering it claiming that this happens all the time na then offered me something much worse. I called O2's Head Office (01132722000) and asked for the customer relations dept, explained what had happened and they offered me a new deal which was way better than the one I had called up to accept.0

just reassuring myself by checking the pay as go tarrifs - you get charged for checking your voicemail and its seems pretty expensive to call people on other networks so hopefully my deal is not too bad although i didn't want to be committed for 18 months!!!0

i've just spoken to o2 retentions and tried in vain to get a similar deal to you. they were adamant that this deal was a mistake and they would never offer it. best deal i could get was a free w880i, 500xmins and 200 txt for £25 a month or a free k610i + bluetooth carkit, 500xmins and 200 txt for £20 a month both 12 months contract.
macladd - are you 100% positive about your deal?0 -
macladd wrote:Hows this for a deal!
500 xnet mins
500 txts
Free voicemail
Sony Ericsson K800i
Free Ipod shuffle
12 month contract
O2 long weekends 12 months
........£15 per month! A score or what!
How long have you been with 02 and how much do you spend a month? I doubt that anyone will get a better deal than that on this board.0 -
Hi I have been with 02 for a year now and my tarrif was Online 50-£25 a month-my monthly spend always goes over and is usually always over the £35 mark, anyway last month I negociated 500 texts and 500 anytime minutes with a Samsung D900 but it wouldnt upgrade as I was still only in month 11. I rang back today and have got all the above and Long Weekends thrown in all for £20 a month and ALSO an I Pod Shuffle. I have checked my online account and its all gone through and should be receiving it all no later than Thurs.
I am very happy with what I have got.0 -
Furious with O2. I sent an email to Peter Erskine but not received any reply yet. Our online bill came in this morning for over £57. So I am extremely unhappy as it should only be £25.
Not going to phone the 0870 number and hope that I get a reply today. If I don't hear anything can anyone recommend my next point of contact using an 0800 number? Surely they are in breach of contract as I agreed to a 12 month contract on 27th November 2006 and obviously can't just change it just like that!0 -

Lara, sounds like this is an ongoing issue. Call the Head Office switchboard on (01132722000) ask to be put through to customer relations, I'm sure they would offer to help resolve your issue immediately.
NB Customer Relations are a step above Customer Services nd are usually spot on when dealing with issues like this.0 -

macladd - are you 100% positive about your deal?
Absolutely 100% I have email confirmation, the handset is due to be delivered today by DHL. As I pointed out, I was not offered this deal by retentions, it was the Head Office Customer Relations dept that offered this deal as I complained about being offered a deal by retentions who then denied offering it when I called back to accept it. Luckily the agent had left notes on the account so they could find out who it was. I assume that customer relations have the authority to offer a better deal in these circumstances. However I was told by both retentions and customer service that people are offered deals all the time that simply cannot be done. Which usually ends up with that person only finding out when they get their first bill on the new retentions tariff. looking at the deals you were offered, mine is not dissimilar so I assume that they have simply discounted my new tariff by £5 per month to get it to £15 and thrown in some extra texts.0 -
Thanks macladd. Just got off the phone to O2. Received a call from someone acting on behalf of Peter Erskine. Transpires O2 never put the extra 300 mins on his account in the first place! Apparently to get it down to £25 they were adding and taking away different tariffs and the only one they could get to for £25 a month was Online Sim 200. However that didn't allow for more than 200 mins so hence we got slammed today with the huge bill - which incidentaly they will put a credit through tomorrow so we only pay £25.
To cut a long story short they are now putting him on an 18 month contract Online Talker 35 for £35 less £10 discount and given the extra 300 mins for the whole of the 12 month period. Although it will be shown as an 18 month contract it will in fact only be for 12 months PLUS she is putting all this down in an email to me so I have the true facts if there is any problem when the contract comes to an end! Happy ending - hopefully.0 -
Hi Lara,
My goodness your having a bad time of it!
I've not been on my thread for a while, the direct number for O2 Customer Relations is 0845 330 0684. (Please remeber they will only speak to you on this number if you have already been in contact with them by e-mail or letter)
Folks, there are good deals still out there but please do remember not everyone will get them. If your not successful on your first call to retentions just thank the advisor and try again later on. Its always good to have a deal you've seen in the paper or somewhere available to compare with what the advisor is putting together for you.
Just to prove there are good deals out there, i've recently negotiated two new deals for my colleagues at work:
The first one:
750 Anytime X Network Mins
150 Text
Free SE W850i
18 Month Contract
£17.50 per month
The second on:
500 Anytime X Network Mins
150 Text
Free SE W850i
18 Month Contract
£15 per month
Hang in there everyone!0
