  • hi,
i'm on o2 500 off peak minutes and 500 text for 15 pounds and thinking of leaving o2 i sent them letter to their disconnections department.few days later someone from retention called me and offered me this

    1) 500 xnet mins/500 texts SE and a free w850i for 20 pounds

    or

    2) 400 xnet mins/500 texts and a free SE w850i for also 20 pounds but with Long Weekends for 6 months

I told them I don't need the minutes and the he gave me this offer

250 xnet mins/500 texts and a FREE SE W850i for only 9 pounds.

Do you guys think I should just accept the offer because I told them I need to think first.Afraid if i call them back later i would not be given this kind of offer again,I accepted the offer straight away.Is the offer good enough?

I think you got yourself a very god deal there. As I said I manged to get 500 mins and 500 texts out of them and a new D900 all for £20 a month-I regularly spend way over £35 each month so I think you did pretty well.

    Hi Guys
    Any advice is much appreciated.
I'm on a 12 month O2 750 anytime x net mins for £35 per month which comes to an end next month. I've also got 50 texts which is enough, the only prob is the minutes arent enough. I use about 900 minutes every month and was wondering do O2 offer anything to someone like me that needs a lot of x network mins. There are some good O2 online double talker minute tariffs but I joined the high street and not sure if they can offer me something comparable. Thx

Hi mufiecas, i've been on the O2 online sim only, 500 off peak mins and 500 texts for £15 for years. I tried to change a few months ago and rang O2 and they wouldn't upgrade me or do anything because I was on sim only online. Is this the same tariff you've been on ? What did you put in the letter as the deal you've got is great, I would be happy on that one. Thanks.

    Hi rince,
I was on the same tariff as you before.I dont put much on the letter but I do really think by requesting PAC code you can get better deal.Furthermore when the guy from retention department called me I lied to him I have took the contract with other network. This surely scares them.Have you surpassed the 12/18 months contract? The guy told me it will cost more to terminate a number so they have to retain any present customer to avoid any losses.Good luck to you though.

Sod - Wish i'd asked you for that infomation before I rang O2, although i'm happy with what I got.

Told O2 I want to cancel contract and asked for PAC code, the woman did me a dead. Didn't want to pay anymore than £15 so got 75 mins xnet anytime, 300 texts and a new SE W610im with freebies for £14. I only use about 60 mins anyway.

Will look on this site more often next time !

Well o2 have done it again and got me.

£20/month for 50 mins and 25 texts for the remaining 6 months
    or pay £120 to cancel

I've still got the rest of this month to use my 200 mins and 50 texts.
    (this was£35/month)

I still need to pay for last months(£48.28) and this months £35

I'm going back to pay as you go, as the home phone is adding up and its all too much for me.
    need to do better
