From reading the latest entries, I notice no one has said much about o2's fair deal:

This is on o2's website so what is going on if people are calling up and getting quoted e.g £90 to get a new phone as an upgrade? Surely you should be getting your phone free with the upgrade instead of having to pay like in the past.

Has anyone mentioned this loyalty deal when calling up? I realise some of you know about this already, just surprised I haven't seen anyone mention that they have used this to their advantage yet.

Just rang O2 tonight on UKbills advice(thankyou)....have been paying £30 a month and want to pay less.....due an upgrade....offered me 500 xnet 500 txtsfor £20 mnth...with free(E50,D900, K610,Z3)...any ideas which will get the most on Ebay..as i'm chuffed with my N70....gonna try to get it down to £15 if poss.......i'm cheeky daft i know....did ask about the N73 but that would cost me £129!!!...loyaty my A*se!!!

To be honest the Sony Ericsson phones always seem to quite well on Ebay- I'd go for that one. How long have you been with 02? And is the 20 quid a month on a 12 month or an 18 month contract?

Roughly 4/5 years now....offered on a 12 mnth contract.....the guy on the phone was saying how bad the redemption deal is with 3 and they make it difficult for their customers to claim back monies....dont believe that for a minute.....if i get em down to £15 a month am gonna snap his hand off.....

I rang tonight and told them I was thinking of leaving them for the 3 network, spoke to a lady called Lynn, she asked me how much I wanted to spend a month and which phones I liked - told her I wanted a samsung d900 and that I wanted to spend no more than £20 a month-she offered me 500 mins and 500 texts which is much better than my online 50-of 100 mins and 500 texts. I am happy with that. My usual monthly spend is £40.

Hey guys, I registered just to let you know how I got in with my contract renewal today.

Basically, last year I managed to get them to half the price of my contract (Online 200 - 200 mins, 500 txts) which should of been £30, but I was paying £15. Well, they would not renew this, and I couldn't even get close to them matching it, the best they could do was the same tariff with a rubbish phone but on an 18 month contract.

So after 3 phone calls, several people, 3 very long conversation, and a trip to the o2 shop, I managed to get them to offer me the Online talker 25, which is 250 mins, 150 txts for £20 a month, on an 18 month contract, but managed to get the Nokia 6131 with a blue tooth headset bundled.

I don't know how people were able to get better deals than that - they were telling me that because I didn't spend enough money with them, they couldn't offer me a brilliant deal like last time. One thing I did do however, is go to the Upgrade department, rather than going to cancel. So maybe I made a mistake here, but I was finding it impossible to break them down, so gave in.

Still, not a bad deal for a phone contract.
