O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

After reading this board for a few weeks I thought I should finally post something!
After taking the advice from this site, and with my contract ending with O2 next month - I thought I would see what they could do.
I rang yesterday, and they offered 250 minutes/300 texts for £20 p.m. with the Limited Edition Silver K800i (I didn't actually know there was a Silver version, but he seemed quite insistent I would want the limited edition version! Who am I to argue with James Bond's choice of phone?!) I rang back yesterday to see if they could do slightly better (pushing my luck, but I have seen a slightly better deal online - I'd rather pay £15). He said they really couldn't go any further, so as it is a pretty decent deal I accepted (at £20 pm).
I'm happy with that... and with the K800 too!
However, I was then told they would save the deal and I'd have to ring back on Feb 12th as the phone wasn't in stock... is this normal?0 -
These new offers will kick in from this monday

Not sure what the differences will be though!0 -
just noticed from O2 shop that ...
'We are currently making improvements to the site to provide customers with an even better shopping experience.'
after trying to look at their tariffs.
Best I've been offered is £15 per month off, if I renew on either a 12 or 18 month contract. Some incentive to go for the 18 month, I don't think.0 -
Given how busy this thread has been recently, I'm amazed it has gone quiet this week, just when O2 have announced their new 'Fair Deal' thing (see above).
Has anyone tried to get an upgrade retention deal this week, and if so have they found it more or less successful? I had two tries last week, and will have one final attempt this Friday when I've seen more about the above the line advertising campaign (apparently released tomorrow)0 -
I rang 08000288151
I was on a cashback deal £30/month which finished last oct.I was spending
total £40/month I asked to cancel and she just said ok,was not offered anything
due to finish 29th feb.
Should I try another number to call?0 -
I phoned them up yesterday and got another 12 months on the same deal I got last year:
£10 per month
100 xnet mins
300 texts
£100 credit for not having new phone
Total cost £20 for the year, perfect for my usage! Didn't think they'd give it to me again this year as I never make any chargeable costs over the £10!0 -

Just phoned O2 Retentions again 30 mins later and asked them to beat the deal I was offered and now they are offering the following:
Discount 500 - 500 X Network Mins
500 Free Texts per month
£15.00 per month
£75.00 Credit applied to my account straight away no need to wait for cashback etc etc.. as i want to keep my handset - This will be a new 12 month contract even though no handset taken
So that works out at -
£15.00 x 12 months = £180.00 - £75.00 Credit = £105.00 for 12 months
Therefore = £8.75 per month after discount etc0 -
I did the new deal a few days ago, but tried ringing again after seeing the remarks of Jazzyjeff 2 posts up. They could not offer this to me; in fact the guy was surprised to hear of it.
Look into O2 Treats as well, which I'd forgotten about, and add one on afterwards - available to all customers of over 6 months, which is bound to be anyone looking for retention deals. Ring 2211 free to hear the options, available for 3 months at a time, then renew again; it may vary for different people, but about 5 options for me include some text messages (not bothered), 1MB of data, or 20 anytime or 40 offpeak minutes per month0 -

Maybe its because I was already on it, the lady I spoke to even spoke to her manager and he gave it the ok (I was ringing a tad early which is why she spoke to him, its getting added to my account in the next week or two and I get a letter confirming).0 -
I've been an o2 customer for years and am now on Retention 500 at £30/month.
Not too happy, as there's no included data Mb and I'm not using anything like 500 mins (250 tops).
What can I request from o2 to get say 5Mb of data each month, maybe trading off some free talk time? PLus, I'd like to get the fee down to about £20. Don't need a new phone, happy with my N70.0
