  • Well called O2 just now - basically offered me more minutes and texts than I get just now, for £1 a month more at £20 but on an 18 month contract. No new phone, no mention of credit. Asked for the PAC code and was told it was 'in the post' so to speak. Not impressed at all I have to say. Might try again later - any thoughts on the period of time to leave it before trying again?

My daughter's contract is ending in 1 week's time, and she has already submitted notice for disconnection (after many unsatisfactory offers from Retention). Today I thought I gave one more go. She is now offered 125min + 400 text at £15 with a new Nokia 5300. It is the best offer so far and she is tempted. Can anyone tell us is this phone any good? And do you think she can ask for some more minutes, say, 200?

I'm on 200 minutes and 500 texts for £15/month. I wanted a Nokia N70 - they wouldn't do it free so paid £100 but the tariff was so cheap I wasn't fussed. And this was about a year ago.

I've always been a very high user, and I think that affects how good a deal they give you.

I managed to get 500 peak mins and 900 texts for £12.66 a month (after £100 credit) on a 12 month with no new phone. Been wanting to get rid of O2 for a long time but I couldn't resist at this price.

For future reference, O2 work out your average spend over the last few months of your contracts - last 6 i think - rather than the entire duration of your current contract. I was on £30 p/m tariff but they screwed up repairing my phone so I got some credit out of them which took my avg. spend down to £16.

Basically, what I am saying is that if you upgrade your tariff in the last 6 months you'll be in a different loyalty band and probably be able to squeeze out more...
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Silly bird said to me, I got a N70 last year and 500 xnet and 100 texts for £15 per month. She said she could do me 400 xnet and 100 texts for £25 per month lol, I said go F*7k and hung up. How can they offer me something of less value and more money lol.
    Kind Regards
    Bill
  • When anyone has requested a PAC code from O2, unsatisfied with their renewal offer - have they ever been recontacted / or rung back with a better offer?

I was offered £25 for 500 mins 100 text but not too impressed so have requested my PAC code - we'll see what happens.

Has anyone recently got say 200/250 minutes, just a few texts, for about £18? If they offered something like that I'd be a bit more interested.
I managed to get near enough in the end, after asking why the offers on my second call were worse than the first, that some people were doing better, and pointing out I didn't need 1000 texts a month when I average about 10.

There seemed to be a £5 a month difference between 12 and 18 month contracts, so ...

£15 for 18 months, 200 minutes, 100 texts, £100 off for no phone, not wonderful but probably ok for me.

My contract ends 23 March my question is . . . can I call them up yet or not??
I am on 200 min/500 text for £25 and going way over my allowance by another £15 to £20 a month so I really could do with more minutes and also a new phone -any ideas anyone??

Sorry if this has been answered earlier in the thread but there's 50-odd pages. If you are not already an O2 customer can you just ring them up and get one of these "retention" deals? I don't really even need a handset but if I had to would consider taking one in package and ebaying it.
