    Hello Guys,

    Myself and my partner are currently on discount 500 with 100 texts @ £25 pm but discounted further to £15 pm for 12 months. We are now due for upgrade and I've called 3 times over the past month and its not been great. I guess its because we never ever go over the £15 per month.

    Anyways best I can get them down to is £25 to keep the same tarrif we are on and £29.99 fpr a k800I

    Should I take it ? :o
  • Second phone call and still the same offer:-
    500mins/ 400text for £25/month + free K800i 12 month contract.
    Matched betting profits since 11/10/06 = £1,554
  • Hi All

    I am a new member and find very useful at forums on O2 retention deals. But can we be able get similar or better retention deals with O2 CPW as I am expecting my renewal soon?

    Many thanks.
  • I've given O2 CPW one final ring to see if I can get a better deal than what i've been offered.

    I was originally offered:

    * Leisure 400 contract
    * 400 off peak minutes
    * 0 texts!!
    * £90 cashback
    * Phone upgrade
    * £8.50 per month

    I really need texts and not minutes so i declined.
    I rang back aa few days ago and they offered me this:

    * Leisure 400 contract
    * 400 mins
    * 0 texts
    * They said I had 500 loyalty points (not sure what they are?) so I would not have to pay for the line rental, but if I wanted texts I would have to buy a bolton (£5 for 100 - id need about £15's worth). They said it does not include a phone...

    SO i've given them one final ring. I really need a new phone and texts, i'm particularly looking at the Nokia N73.

    He came back with this:

    * Free Nokia N73
    * 500 texts (roll over)
    * 200 x minutes (that roll over to next month)
    * £150 cashback
    * For £25 per month, but it's an 18 month contract.

    I'm finding this very tempting, but the 18 month contract is putting me off. He's ringing me back in about 30 minutes to go through it.

    He said for a 12 months contract the phone would be £70. I never thought to ask if I could have less cashback but get the phone free....

    Any thoughts on this deal??

    *EDIT*

    Well he rang back and i've taken them up on the deal. I asked about the 12 month contract he said I could do that but I would only get 100 texts and not the 500 texts as in the 18 months contract. So got a new N73 coming tomorrow, not sure if the deal is decent but I've got the phone I wanted and also plenty of texts and minutes. :)

    Having been on Discount 500 for the past 12 months @ £15pm it was time to renew the offer (bear in mind those on the Discount tariffs that it only lasts for 12 months then the cost automatically goes up, wouldve been £25 a month in my case had i not renewed)

    So here is the deal i managed to squeeze out of them (18month contract) :

    Free Nokia N73
    800 rollover X-Net anytime mins
    2000 X-Net mins to use at the weekends
    200 Texts
    1Mb inclusive data allowance

    This tariff is the online 35 talker (usual price £35)

    Im gonna pay a total of £28 per month

    Phone arrived today and its awesome.

    Just off the phone to O2. Better offer than a couple of days ago which was a really stupid-who-would-want-that-offer.

    Offer today was
    100gbp credit
    200 xnet min
    400 txt
    For 25gbp a month (5gbp discount off the usual 30gbp)
    Supposedly this is just keeping me on the same tariff with the extra bolt on that I am currently on for 15gbp a month. The O2 200....which doesn't exist anymore.

    I asked about using my inclusive txt from abroad and was told I couldn't use them and couldn't currently use them - aload of rubbish. I am currently using them (1 txt = 4 credits)..... Mostly to txt uk mobiles, but even the foreign mobiles I've txted come out of my allowance - is this a feature of ITS?

    Anyway, 25gbp is still more than i want to pay especially when I know what other people have received for 15gbp. I'd be relatively happy if I got the same deal for 15gbp as I don't think I'll be able to push for any more txts -- am abroad at the moment so my phone usage is minimal, or at least thats what their system says!

    So how long (hours/days) between phone calls to O2 should I wait?
    I'm unfortunately starting to think of pay as you go packages. Tesco mobile is cheaper txt from abroad than O2 on the same network....? And Orange and Vodafone have free sims at the moment though I don't know if I can use these abroad for txting (same price as O2 I think).

    Think I can get them to reduce the monthly cost any further?
    Might try them tomorrow again as after that I really can't guarantee my skype quality for another 10 days. :-(

    Thaks for any advice.

    Latest offer was this

    75gbp credit
    100 xnet anytime mins
    400 texts
    for 15gbp.

    Probably not going to get a better deal now... not quite as good as last year but close....

    What do you think, can I push them for more credit or anything? Being honest, the mins and text will cover what I use. (don't know what plan this is, the basic was 100 mins 100 txt.)

    Right off to get some tea and do some math on this.

  • hi i rang O2 yesterday, ive been with them 6 years, have two phone accounts with them, was put through to rententions, and told them i was unhappy with how much i was paying each month.

    Eventually she gave me, 200 mins, 900 txts for £25 a month, plus a Sony Ericsson K610im, and she did the same for my second account.

    It certainly does seem like the golden days are over, as mentioned above, and I should have spoken to them a bit before Christmas. On average it looks like about 20% off line rental

    There don't seem to be options in between 400 to 600 minutes plus long weekends, and only 100 minutes for £15, which can be beaten by some payg deals. While long weekends might look attractive, who really needs to talk for 2500 minutes a month?

    Has anyone recently got say 200/250 minutes, just a few texts, for about £18? If they offered something like that I'd be a bit more interested.
