  • Well I rang O2 (CPW) a week or so ago to cancel my 18 month contract as i'm in the final month and they offered me a Leisure 400 contract.

They told me it would be £8.50 a month, with 400 minutes but no texts. Plus a phone upgrade. Plus £90 cashback. I said I'd think about it.

I rang them again today, and the CS said I have 500 loyalty points or something.

He said I can go on the Leisure 400 contract, and I wouldn't have to pay anything for the whole year, except if I wanted bolt on texts. He said due to me having the 500 loyalty points they would pay my line rental for the whole 12 months. I mentioned they said I could have a phone upgrade but he said no it would just be the free line rental.

What do others think of this deal? I really wanted a new phone to be honest. Plus I mainly use texts so I'd still have to fork out for 200 texts bolt on which is £10.

I think i've done pretty well actually!

    I was on o2 online liesure 25 - 1000 off peak minutes 500 texts - £25 for 12 months.

Id seen £35 a month, half price for first 10 months, 400mins + 100 texts 12 months at dailaphone and quoted o2 this offer.

They went away and came back with an offer:

500mins + 400texts for £25 for 12months - worked out to be £55 more than dailaphone's offer so i said no, she went away again and came back a better offer:

The same offer as before but for £20 a month, so i'm on more texts and minutes than dailaphones offer and it's less! dailaphones offer works out to £245, o2 works out to £240 so i've saved a fiver!!

As someone said before, its down to luck and that luck has alot to do with who you are talking to. The lovely lady i spoke to was called Yvonne...

Oh, when i first tried to upgrade to the k800i i was told there would be the 89.99 charge because my last contract was only £19 a month, that is why i went with the liesure tariff so it would be free.

When i just rang she's put me a tariff that is only £1 a month from my last contract and there was no mention of the £89.99 so i've dodged it! :D

    Good luck Noz!

ask for texts instead of the minutes, you've nothing to lose by it its a free contract!

If they do that you can just get top ups for voice calls. if you did that every month for the 12 months you would only be paying £10 a month!

    well done guys.
  • I just wanted to say a big thankyou for this thread! :j

Just spoke to O2 and they have offered me 400 minutes, 750 texts for £15 and £100 credit or a new phone (unfortunately I do need a new phone as that would have given me almost a years worth of free calls!).

Very happy with this as I have been paying £30 for 400 mins and 50 texts!

Remember Business Tariffs are excl VAT so add the 17.5% to the £32.00 seaniboy has mentioned - The 500 X Net mins are only for 6 months on a 12 month tariff, after that they go down to 250. The 500 mins are for life on a 24 month contract.

This tariff also gives unlimited calls to O2 numbers or Unlimited Evening and Weekend you can choose what you want when connecting to the network.
