O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

That's an excellent tariff for the cost! I pay £20 and only get 125 mins and 250 texts - but that's Vodafone for you! :rolleyes:0

Thank you!! Will try and see if they will keep it going!0

Be my 3rd year with 02 and upgrade is due now. Im on the 200 mins 500 texts tariff for £30/month.
Now I only want the nokia n73 handset and to get on the discounted tariffs - the best deal they have offered me so far is 500 mins 500 texts for £20 and the phone for £100
I dont go over the standard contract rate so havent got much bargaining power I suspect, but every year I've paid £100 for a nokia handset when I can easily go elsewhere and get it for half that price or free.
Has anyone been offered the n73 for free or cheaper? Or will they not budge on the price? I would cancel and sign up again but want to keep my number. Or my last option would be to get a free handset and ebay it as im sure I would get more than the £100 they offer.0 -
Ok, well I thought I would provide an update. O2 have allowed me to retain my current Discount 750 tariff at £20/month. They did mention however that it is not a freely available tariff and only people already on it may continue.
I also got a £100 credit as I did not want a new phone. Has anyone ever managed to get more than a £100 credit?
Thanks0 -
Has anyone had any success getting a better deal when quoting a "12 months half price line rental" plan.
I've seen on the carphone warehouse site, a K800i free on a 12 month contract @ £30 a month "half price line rental" with 200 mins and 300 texts. Do you think I would have any success it trying to get them to match this? I understand that with half price line rental deals you have to claim the money back and thought thats why O2 would tell me to get lost!0 -

You have to be with O2 for 12 months or more before getting a retention tariff. O2 won't match a cashback deal for a new customer as at the end of the day even if you get the contract from a thrid party the network is still getting a new customer either way, its the dealer that is giving you some of the money they make from a new connection as cash back.0 -

I should have mentioned I've been with O2 for 5 years so if I stay it'll be 6. Surely if I was to say I was thinking of going through the CWH on a Virgin contract on half price line rental they would do something!?? at the end of the day it doesn't matter if I go through a thrid party company or direct to another network, O2 would still end uplosing my business if they couldn't give me what I wanted.0 -
O2 have just offered me a retention deal of 750 minutes and 750 texts for £35 plus £100 if I keep the phone i've got. Do you think I could get a better deal elsewhere or is this the best it's gonna get? Sounds good to me but don't want to miss out on something better. I don't mind changing to another provider. My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0
