Hello. Got the contract down to £20 per month with 500 mins and 500 texts. They charged me £79.99 for the K800i though. It's ok i suppose.0

I already told the guy I didn't mind losing the discounted Tarrif, in fact I was losing it anyway going from £15 to £25. I mentioned that the online 25 Tarrif came with a free k800I so if I was going to be paying £25 from my new contract surely I should get this and my £15pm payments shouldn't be factored in. He wasn't bothered and would not budge from £199 and £25 undiscounted discounted 500 Tarrif (lol that sounds weird)
To be honest I'd be happy paying the £25pm and £50-£60 for the phone as its a decent Tarrif but if new customers get it free why should I pay £199 having been a loyal o2 customer for nearly ten years

Martin.
Just ring back up and say your not paying £200 for a phone that new customers can get fro free so therefore wish to cancel your contract. HOWEVER, make it clear that you will be signing back up witn O2 again tomorrow on the £25 a month tariff to get the K800i for free. They will then give you the phone for free as there's cost involved with setting up a new contract.
I had the same problem 2 years ago, as soon as I said I wanted to cancel and made it clear I'd be signing straight back up the next day to get the phone I wanted for free suddenly they were willing to do as I wished! :j
Goes without saying, don't get suckered into an 18 months contract no matter what they offer!!!0 -

Maybe i'm being an idiot but I still can't see why
Online Leisure 25 1000 500 £ 25 is so cheap? it must be simm only?
EDIT - Yes its simm only0 -
Its not, they're locking you into an 18 month contract thats why you get more. You can still get a free phone as a new customer, its money well spend as far as O2 are concerned as they get another 6 months line rental out of you without having to give you an upgrade.0

Hi,
Could I please get some advice?
I am currently on Discount 750 (750 XNet Anytime Minutes and 400 Text Messages) and pay £20 per month.
I have an average monthly spend of £40.
I have been with O2 for around 10 years and am upgrading 3 contracts.
Can I hope to get a better tariff at the same price? What is the best deal I should aim for?
Thank you!
Merry Christmas!!!0 -

I think if your on this tariff and paying a fixed £20 per month line rental for 750 X Net Mins and 400 Texts then your doing very well.
I would ask Retentions if you could possibly stay on this tariff and do the upgrade, don't think your going to get anything better than what your on.0
