lucyginger wrote:I was on the o2 £30 month tariff, I rang to see if I could get a better deal and I'm now on £15 a month for 250 mins and 500 texts. I asked for a new phone too and was sent one I didn't like so have sent it back. I really want the N73, I've been told it would cost £100 to me. Do you think its worth asking again or shall I take a not so good phone? The one I've got at the moment has video calling etc so I'd really like one with the same features, if not better.
Any tips gratefully received!
Be Careful. Alot of people have reported problems with the N73. I wanted one as well but after speaking to friend and doing a bit of research on the interweb I'm glad I didn't bother. Apparently some networks have withdrawn the phone from sale.0 -

I was wondering about what O2 are prepared to match in terms of other plans (with relation to both phones and allowances). I'm currently on an O2 plan (O2 100, I think) with an average spend each month of about £26 (£1 over the monthly cost) which is due to expire next week (cruddy timing, just before Xmas).
I had it in my head that I wanted a Sony Ericsson K800i, but O2 want £140 for it, which is too rich for my blood. I've spotted a few plans out there such as T-Mobile's Flext 25 and Relax 25 that can offer more minutes and texts for £25 per month or less and I can get a SE K800i for about £20. The girl in retentions yesterday was pushing the SE K610i and SE Z710i which I'd never heard of, so rather than take my PAC, I was persuaded to go off to have a look at the phones, neither of which is taking my fancy.
During my conversations thus far with O2 staff (I've called twice), no-one's even mentioned my monthly allowance of minutes and texts… all the talking has been about phones. I don't particularly want to leave O2 because the service has been good and the timing (just before Xmas) is poor.
Are O2 staff capable of matching these kinds of deals? I'm well aware that others have been given great deals (a co-worker got 500 minutes and 500 texts for £17.50 per month and a W810i only last week), but I seem to be given "take it or leave it" options. Should I be emailing the Peter Erskine email address now or should I be waiting until after I call again and request my PAC number (assuming I continue to get "take it or leave it" offers)?
Thanks in advance.0 -

I think that you should be able to negotiate a bit on your tarriff and reduce the line rental. If i were you i would use the argument of cashback deals. Say that you are probably going to leave because you have been offered the good deals on this page: http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones/disphandset.php?network=virgin&handset=K800ICL
for example a free K800i with 200mins/300texts for £8.24 per month after cashback. They will then hopefully offer you a discount off your tarriff which will make up for the large outlay for the K800i from them0 -
Essentially then you're saying that it's highly unlikely that O2 will drop the price of the K800i to match the T-Mobile deals (or other provider such as Orange) of £30 for the handset?
I appreciate that the K800i is a popular (and expensive) phone, but I'm not naive enough to think they'd give it out for free and that there'd be a bit of 'negotiation' at the very least to get it at a nominal fee.0 -
Was offered 200 minutes and 500 texts plus any phone (except 2-3), for £15 per month. The phone I'm going for SE800i, has been offered free.
I am quite a heavy WAP user, and they offered me a 5MB per month bundle for an extra £6. Does anyone think it would be worth my while trying to get that included for free?

I got my W950i today - very quick from o2 and they were really helpful - I got a 3g sim card with the phone - does anyone know if I am supposed to use this sim or can I still use my old one? Obviously I want my same number.0
