Just been offered 500xnet anytime mins and texts for £20 a month.
I've been with o2 since I've had a mobile.
About 8 years.
Im after an N73 but they wont budge on £170.
Any ideas how I can get the price on contract down or the phone price down?
Cheers0 -
scout around and see who is doing that phone cheaper and go back to them0

I'm having a little bit of trouble with upgrading son's phone. He is on 500 x mins and 200 texts for £20. Contract expired 11th November. We phoned in September to upgrade but phone he wanted not in stock. Was told to call back in a few weeks to see if in stock. No luck but was told to keep calling back and we'd stay on same contract until phone in. Got bill today. Been charged rental since 12th November at non dicounted rate i.e. £35  . So I'm not very happy to say the least.
They want to charge me £35 for same tariff we are already on. At the moment bills are around £35 per month although last month it was £58 but that was expected for one reason or another.
We would really like 500 mins and 400 text for same amount £20.
Does anyone know the hours for Retentions Dept please? Email said they are available from 8am to 6pm and I'm not ringing 0870 numbers during that time!
EDIT:
Office hours are as above - just got through via Business dept, apologised and asked to be put through to Retentions where message states they are now closed.:(0 -

Vodaphone will do the phone free on a £30 a month contract (300mins 500 texts) and 3G i think offering 100mins 300 texts free n73 for £35 i think.
Dam i want tht phone lol.0 -
At 8.10am I phoned O2 via business freephone number as per page one of this thread, apologised and was put through to retentions:). Lady I spoke to couldn't give me a better deal and couldn't let me stay on same deal
. She was very nice though and said she would have to put me through to the specialist department and to tell them I was looking at other phone companies tariffs. Was put through to equally pleasant person - I was on my very best, nicest behaviour too! After nearly an hour on freephone number
I came away happy with 500 mins and 600 texts for £20 per month but as the phone wanted was £100  , he couldn't reduce the price but gave me another 300 mins for the first six months. Guess who's was a very popular Mum!

Hi all,
My contract with o2 is about to end. I am currently on 200xnet mins and 500 texts for £15 per month.
In an ideal world, I would like a phone with a decent camera. (At the very least with 2 mega pixels, but preferably more.) Also, I would like at least 400 minutes and 400 texts.
I have spent the last two hours hunting around for deals but there is too much choice! It is taking ages too because my new baby is constantly feeding at the moment and so I only have the index finger of my left hand free to type with!
Ordinarily I would keep my current phone and sell the new one on ebay, but as my phone was introduced to a nice hot bath by our mischievous toddler, I am in desperate need of a new one!
Just had a look on e2save and there seem to be some quite good deals. I would never ever consider 3, but they also seem cheap. Do people think if I were to find a cheap 3 tariff, O2 would match it?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Leafton, it seems me and you are on the same contract plan! I rang up this Jan and said I was moving and was offered the online 200 tariff, with 200 x-net mins and 500 texts for 1/2 price = £15 but i still pay the £5 a month insurance (correctly as the phone packed in earlier in the year!)
Like many other people I have had a few problems with the billing dept, as they say they will charge you for one thing, then some other div comes along and changes things without consulting the operator you spoke to
Anyway, check your bills, and ring them and play hell if they mess you around, its worked for me! On to my query...
I'm changing stuff around again next month, and am looking for a very similar deal to the one i'm on (ie no more than £15 a month for roughly 200mins/500texts - even though i'm sure i dont use this much anymore!) Although i'm quite underwhelmed by the phones on the O2 web site! What are the chances of getting a spangly new Nokia N93, which isnt offered by O2, for as near to free as possible, with a new contract I will take out in Jan. I've been with O2 for about 3/4 years now and upgrade every year! Does anyone know if they will pull the strings to get this type of phone, or does the door shut on just the phones they supply and thats it?
Any help is appreciated, thanks0 -

The SIM free price of the N93 is around £550 so even if they did it it would cost you a lot to buy from them, probably in the region of £2-300
Phones like that are only cheap when taken out with contracts costing £80+ per month0 -
cheers charlton fan, i thought as much but is always god to check. the choice of phones at the mo are all very similar. IMHO i dont think there has been a really good phone innovation since the camera phone, and we're all getting pretty bored with that. the i-mode o2 use in Japan is ace, cos its used as a means of 'electronic wallet' and people even start their cars by having their mobile on and sitting in the drivers seat. How come we're so far behind the times? Seems phones these days only sell because of the design or the fact that it offers more Megapixels than another. we need to catch up with the orient!0
