Initially I e-mailed them and said I'd found a better deal .... and they simply e-mailed me back with the PAC...
But when I phoned retentions I got the discount 500 dealI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I phoned this morning to see what they could offer me as im now in the last 30 days of my contract - the best they said they could do is 500xnet mins per month and 200 texts but for £21.50 per month - I was o2 shop not online - has anyone else found this?
I got a free samsung d500 phone and free bluetooth headset too.
(my previous tariff was o2 400 paying £35 a month but average bill was £50)0 -
Well I just asked for my paq code, and got asked why, so I explained that I ahd found a 3 deal with 8.99 for 12 months and a free nokia 6630, here . And basically got told to look at it very carefully, as if the company goes under then I would be paying blah blah blah.
So has anyone got the 500 voice and 100 text offer from a more reputable company for £15. As I think I may of been a little greedyas this tarif is now £30 with 3.
I'm getting my wife to phone back later as the account is in her name, and I'm not allowed to get the paq code.
Cheers0 -
Yeh Darth try again and speak to a different adviser who will most likely be more willing to comply. Say you are happy waiting for the cashback, and that they work out much cheaper for a little more effort.
I didn't mention a particular company i just said 3 have offered me £15/month 500mins/500texts via cashback and they were reasonably happy to offer me a similar deal.
In general o2 instore customers will get less texts with these retention tarrifs than online customers0 -
WELL
i got a cracking deal for my wife ...
i rang up asked for pac number when they asked y i told they of the hassel i had getting too access my wifes account ( we had put a password on it and they never seem to record what it is ... the last time they put a different word on .... and asked me to think what it could be !!!!!! ..... i just started laughing ... they wanted me to guess what random word the operator typed in ... aghhhhhh)
any way
i explained alll this to the new operator told them we were going to 3 and she offered me the 500 tarrif for £10 as we didnt need texts went through the whole offer ... got a new samsung e720 free .... the i asked could they give some texts they offered 40 and when i asked for more she said ok i'll give u 100
so we got the 500 deal with 100 texts for £10 per month with a new e720 thrown in for free !!!!!
how pleased am i with myself ?????THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS ……
..…JUST WAIT AND SEE0 -
Nice job MasterBlaster, can I ask did you get that this month, or last. The reason I ask is that I have always been under the impression that if you go in (to a shop) at the end of the week/ month you can get a better deal, as they may not of hit their sales targets, so are willing to offer more.
I did try again this morning, although the chap was a lot more helpful, I still got the'cash back doesn't work' routine. It seems to me that as it's the begining of the week and month I'm not having much successmind you I could fall into a barrel of t!ts and still come out sucking my thumb
Unfortunatly for me the account is held by the wife, I did try explaining the situation last night, but she got the wrong end of the stick and thought I was actually going to move to 3 (we were talking over the phone, so I couldn't how her this thread).
The main reason I'm doing this is that I want a Motorola V3 (yes I'm aware of the probs), they have offered it to me for £159 _pale_ as I am a low user. So I'm not too worried about the minutes. And I want to stay with them, as I seem to be getting my gprs for free :rotfl:
I'll get the wife to try today, and if that fails I'll try towards the end of the week. She needs to phone anyway as her upgrade is at least a day late, so I want her to cancell it, and try to close the account, to try and get this deal, as she needs the tarrif. I'll let you know.

OK i very confused now - just called up again and said that my friend got 500xnm and 100text for £15 - she said to me that the reason mine was 21.50 is because it is 12.50 for the mins and 9.00 for the texts (200) - is this right or should i ask for it all for £15.0
-
They do it differently for different people. You were happy to start with paying 21.50, but now you are not, so say "3 is £15/month" so thats how much you want to pay0
-
what is the 3 offer so i can quote it... thanks.0

The one i said is: 500xnet mins, 500 free texts and free nokia 6680 for 12 months @ £15/month via cashback
This sets their benchmark really high and if you push them they will match it (if you are an instore customer you will only get 200-300 free texts) or almost match it0
