O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

I think my son would prefer to stay with O2 anyway but just wants a better deal than present so thanks for advice.
I presume he could still email his 30 day notice to cancel now though as even a new contract with O2 is cheaper than an upgrade? The last time my elder son cancelled his high street O2 contract as he wanted an online contract for the extra texts, O2 phoned him up to make an offer.0 -
I (if you look back to what I got) I called them up and ask for the PAC. I think if you email you might just get your PAC !!0

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience with their first bill after being upgraded to the Discount tariff. I was offered 500 anytime Xnet with 100 text for £15 per month. (I got a new K750i too)

They billed me for my old tariff for August which they credited back and therefore took two months worth of Discount 500 and 2 months worth of credit (which clearly states is only for 12 months, by the way). However I have effectively been credited back £15 per month (above figures don't include VAT) which makes my tariff only £10 per month. However I haven't been given any text allowance as I was told I would.
I don't text that much but I wondered if they have forgotten to add some sort of text bundle (which may have cost £5 for 100 texts) but have just given the credit for this. Or as some others here have suggested that the extra 100 texts are credited every 3 months (although this seemed to be suggested for people getting 500 free texts). AND what is the Loyalty Reward at £0.00 about?
One way to find out about this would be to contact 02 but they may then say that I was given to much credit and then I might lose it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.Nice to save.0 -

I had only intended giving the 30 days required for cancellation so that he's not tied in any longer than necessary if they don't give him any offer.
However you think that phoning on the 30th day before contract ends is the best way to do it?0 -
His contract ends on the 28th October. So he can't give "30 day notice" now cause 30 days from now will be roughly 3rd October. But your contract expire on 28th October. So they will charge you an early termination fee. Hence it is better to wait until 29th September and than if they do not offer a good deal, your 30 days will start from that date. Which mean it will end on 28th October, your end of contract = no early termination charge.0

Yes I see what you are saying - it's probably my wording that is confusing things.
What I really meant is that he would email to say that he wishes to terminate his contract with effect from the 28th October.0 -

My second bill on the Discount tariff was similar to what you have experienced.

I also was supposed to get 500 Free Texts per month but for some reason they only gave me 400. I called the Retentions Team and they sorted it there and then. It now shows 400 Combi Messages/SMS/MMS and 100 Texts = 500 Texts0 -
I have an O2 contract purchased through carphone warehouse. I've been with them for 3 years. Is it possible for me to get these discount contracts. If so, which telephone number do I contact?0
