    Arghhhh. Phoned up O2 again today, and yet again they tell me that the E900 is still not in stock, it now won't be back in until the 21st August apparently.

    Are they just messing me around? Has anyone else gotten one through speaking to retentions over the last 2 weeks?

    They said I could go to my nearest O2 store, and if they had any there, I could take one, then phone them back up and get the deal I was offered. Though I'm not sure how that would work, surely I can't just go in to the shop and then go back home with the phone for free! :D

    I heard that was possible last year however when i went into my o2 store they said online offers were different so they couldn't give me a free phone. Some people have had success this way though :)

    Just renewed my contract today, got 500 anytime minutes and 500 txts for £20 a month, also got a free K610i, I asked about the e900 but was told they were out of stock, when I questioned about them being on the website I was told it was different stock!! But I am very happy with the deal I got 400 more minutes and 475 more txts for the same price I was paying already - bargain ;o)

    A little off topic, but Orange currently have a price error on their SPV M3100 (3G PDA type) phone £49.99 instead of £149.99. The web site shows £149.99 but if you phone up, you will be quoted the lower price for the time being.
  • Hi all,

    First-time poster, long-time lurker.

    Thanks to all of the great info on here I thought I'd have a go at phoning O2 a month (and a day) before my contract was due to end.

    Without much haggling at all I was offered half price line rental, taking my £30 bill down to £15 and £100 "Loyalty Bonus" if I didn't take a new phone. As the phones they were offering for free weren't up to the standard I hoped for I decided to take the money and run. They also started the new price immediately, and on my bill one day later I can confirm all seems to be as promised.

    That means I get 6 months without a bill, and then £15 a month for 200 X-net anytime minutes and 500 texts. Which is more than I ever use anyway, so all in all I'm pretty chuffed.

    I would have liked the SE W810i but as they wanted £50 for it I thought I'd leave it, with the knowledge that I can change my mind within 14 days if i hear suddenly that people on here are getting these phones for free...

    Thanks to everyone for the tips and good info. :beer:
  • I'm on Online 400 tariff 12 month contract which is due to expire in 2 weeks. I pay £45 p/m for:

    400 anytime minutes;
    1000 SMS;
    125 MMS.

    I have been with O2 for 6 years. I was never aware of any retention scheme (thank god I found this!) Anyway, I'd now like to negotiate something with O2 and would like to know what kind of deal I could get. I have noticed I seem to be paying a lot for what I get. Essentially, I would like:

    400 anytime mins;
    500 sms; and
    a free/cheap K800i.

    What price do you think I should be aiming for and how should I start any negotiation?

    Cheers guys.

    I called up and said im paying too much. At that point the o2 guy instantly offered me the same deal for £30 p/m! To be honest i didn't expect this straight away and caved in and accepted. I reckon I should have haggled a bit more though! I was also offered a free K800i or £100 credit. I chose the K800i. Plan is to sell that handset for about £200/250: That will pay for about 8 months rental, leaving me to pay £30 p/m for the final 4 months.

    Probably could have done better, but happy anyway. Oh, the guy was going on about a 14 day change mind period: does this refer the contract deal so i could call up and re-haggle?

    Just spoke to O2 as my contract is due to expire

    Currently on discount 400 deal which is 400 x-network anytime with 1000 texts. Should be £40 but talked them into only charging £25.

    Mentioned that i was thinking of leaving as "3" would match it with a free phone.

    The retention guy immediately offered this:

    500 x-network anytime minutes with 1000 texts for only £20 PLUS a new phone. When I asked for the new SEW810i he said yes!!! Sell the phone for £150ish!

    What a deal!!!!

    Ive just been offered 200 minutes & 500 messages for £15 which i've accepted, but had to take the Sony k610i which is a bit annoying, the w810i was £49.99 and she wouldn't budge - i've only had the contract a year, recently downgraded the tariff so can't moan too much! Anyone got one of the handsets? opinions?
  • Rang up today and was offered 500mins/500texts for £20 per month. Considering i have paid £10 per month this year for 500mins/400 texts this isn't really very good for me. They said they cannot offer as competitive tarrifs as last year :(

    Tried 3 times and all 3 people said that £20 was the minimum they could reduce it to.

    As for phone the K800i was £179! as i was a Band A (under £20 user) and E900 £90. If however i have a bill this month of £25+ then ill creep up into band C and so each phone will cost £60 less.

    I might take the £100 credit as i am away for 5 of the 12 months.

    Going to ring the 0870 number to see if i can improve on this deal.

    We just got our 610i today, have to say I quite like it, have been playing with it all evening. It is quite light but feels solid enough, might not be as good as the 810i but is ample for my needs.
