Remember the PAC only lasts a month so you can still save face and go back next month and try the PAC thing or alternatively try again. It does sound to me like you got a really good deal though.

This is not dig at you or anyone else but I am starting to see a very fine line lately over people been greedy and money saving when it comes to telephone/mobile/tv/broadband issues.

right, i have just got off phone to retentions.

i am currently on o2 200 with 200 mins and 100 txts £30, but have an average monthly spend of £50. only been on o2 for a year

after about 30 mins was offered a final deal of 500 mins and 300 txts for £20, with either a nokia 3250 or nokia 6280. I wasn't happy and asked for my PAC code

what i want to ask is how to approach the call a 2nd time? what do you say, as you have already asked for the PAC code. also, should I ask for a better phone? whats the best nokia I can hope to get?

any help would be much appreciated...

to be honest that tarriff for £20 is about the best most people have managed to get, so you'll be VERY lucky to get anything better (maybe more texts, but i doubt the price will lower, unless you want less minutes).

As to how to approach it - just call again. Most of the retention staff havent got a clue and wont even check your notes to see if you have your PAC code ... but personally I would take that deal as you wont get any better.

I have worked hard to get a reasonable deal from O2. As stated earlier in the thread, the offers you recieve depend on who you happen to get through to.

I have settled on 500 mins and 100 text messages for £20 month. I know people have obtained more minutes for less, but I am happy with this. I am paying less than last year for a higher level service.

I've just called to renew my sisters contract for her (a practice run for later on this month when mine is due lol) and the best i could get out of them was 500 x net mins 500 texts and a new handset for £25 a month or if she didn't get a new handset £100 credit too.

She told me to acept the deal without the new handset, she's happy but I'm not sure that I've got her such a good deal, the guy I spoke to just wouldn't budge.

Hi, I am in desperate need of some help. Im currently on a discounted tariff of £15 for 200 mins and 500 texts with o2. Problem is i've barely gone over my spend. Retentions wanted £180 for the K800 and £140 for the LG Choc and wouldnt budge over the price when I called yesterday

I've been a customer for 4 years and obviously don't wanna cancel my contract as my tariff is really cheap for only £15 a month. has anyone got any tips/ rival deals to drive down the price of the k800? many thanks

When you went through the menu (The "press 1 to upgrade your phone, 2 to cancel our contract" etc) at the start of your call did you chose the upgrade option? I did that the first time I called up and the woman I spoke to offered me a really rubbish deal, so I called their bluff and said I wanted to cancel. She then said the section I needed wasn't open at that time because the computers were down and that I would have call back later. So I did, 20 seconds later LOL The second time I pressed the option for cancellations and got offered a much better deal.

Don't be frightened to threaten to cancel, it's rare they let you get to that point for real, and if you can get a better deal somewhere else other than o2 then why would you want to stop with them?

    hth :)

    hi
I have just got 200 anytime x network, 400 texts, and a free K800i for £15 month (12mths). I have been a good customer though, spending £500 last year.

The deal I got tonight was way better than the deal offered to me this morning!

just wondering if you guys with these contracts actually got 1/2 price line rental see im on the online 300 or watever the £30 one is but they gave me enough credit to cover 9 months out of my 18 months making it £15 a month on average.,. is this normal?
  • Need to renew my OH's contract on 02 soon as soon as the phone she wants comes in. She is on online 100 at the mo and uses very little per month (well within the limit)
What do you think she should go for - had the current contract for almost 2 years and didnt upgrade the phone last year
