O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

I think I read somewhere that if your o2 contract is through Carphone Warehouse you can’t get a one of the good retention tariffs – is this true?Bank charges reclaimed - FirstDirect - In Full £330 :j
Halifax - In Full - £3533 :T :j :T :j :T :j
Still awaiting - MBNA0 -
i ended up cancelling my o2 contract last night as they couldnt offer me the phone i wanted even if i changed my tarriff (i wanted more text and peak x-net mins)
i was told the phone i want would be £210 even if i upgraded to a £25 a month tarriff.
so i went with t-mobile.
600 texts and 250 x-net mins for £25 a month AND the phone was free0 -
Last week I upgraded to:
800 texts
500 x net anytime mins
12 month contract
£20 per month
free Samsung E900
I was told when I came to order (when the e900 was back in stock) that the texts should have been 500 but the retentions guy I spoke to originally had given me a fantastic deal. Not going to argue with that.
Prior to this deal I had been quoted £25 per month, 18 month contract for 750 texts and 750 x net mins with free e900.
Keep pushing everyone, it depends on the retentions person you speak to!0 -
does anyone know the retentions number for o2 online?0

I've read the thread about o2 retentions and the deals offered and I've realised that the deal I got last year wasn't as good as I thought it was at the time.
I got 50 mins and 500 texts for £15 a month (for 12 months), plus £10 credit and a new Samsung E530 phone (which was crap and broke in less than 6 months but o2 refused to do anything about it  )
My contract is up for renewal next month, so how do I go about getting a better deal? I am trying to cut my outgoings at the moment, so I was planning on scrapping the contract and going back to PAYG, but if I can get a good deal with enough inclusive minutes it will pay for it's self as I will no longer have to use my landline to make calls.
How does everyone get such good deals? Any tips?0 -

Hi Looby. When I called retentions I also said I wanted to cut down my outgoings so wanted to go back onto PAYG. I used to pay £20 a month and the guy I spoke to said £19 per month was the lowest he could go. I said it wasn't good enough so was going to have one last search online and if I couldn't better what he offered I'd go back onto PAYG. I found a better deal so called back and got someone different, I quoted the deal I had found and they bettered it for me. I got 200 anytime anynetwork rollover minutes and 500 txts for £15 per month. Also got £100 credit as I didn't want a new phone. I now use my mobile instead of landline so it has cut phone bill down.
I'd say look for a good deal before you call them so that they have something to work with.
HTH:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
just rang retentions.
was on disc 500. due to end in a week. they said they will continuethe offer of 500 mins +400txt for £20/month, but theycanonly offer me k610i for free.
that is a naff phone, i wanted the xda exec LAST YR but they wanted too much for it then (£300), now i thought its a yr on so will be less, she said the best they can do is £220 !
thats equiv to 18.33/month which means my i would be paying 38/month !
is that worth it. i did ask about the N80 but she said that is going to be similar price range.
i think tmobile's flext+web/walk 35 is better. £42/month plus with UNLIMITED web access, 700 xnet mins, enuf txts etc....?
wat to do...?? im confused now !?0 -

Hi All
Phoned yesterday to ask about offers to keep our 10 business phones with o2, we never go over our allowances (100min & 100txts each) it was bought through mobileshop and all contract cash (£30 monthly) given back during the year so it has in fact cost us nothing for the last year.
Anyways they offered 250 minutes for £15 monthly, said I would phone back to confirm if we wanted it, spoke to someone else later and mentioned the discount 500, they said they had not heard of this?
Anyways we eventually got 500 minutes and 200 texts per month for £17.50 with a choice of new phones, we took the nokia 6131 phones I think it was.0
