I've been on the Discount 500 + 500 free txts (£15pm) for a year now.

Called up today and they renewed my contract for another year which is nice. But since I never went over my spend limit much, my choices for upgrade were rubbish. Ended up with a Nokia 6131. Ah well, that's still ~£150 on eBay which will pay for most of my contract!

Matrix, what i actually meant was, how much do u spend on it? If you current monthly rate is £0 but you spend £80 per month on calls, etc.

Hi, just been onto retentions today - I told them (as this was true!) that I'd just ordered two new phones on O2 with free line rental / phone for 1 yr on 1yr contract. They said they couldn't match that but if I wanted to keep the SIMs & use my existing phones they could reduce the cost of the O2-25 tarriff from £15 to £6 pcm and credit my account with £75 - so this would cover 12 months line rental and leave me £3 in credit - though 25mins & 25 textsa month isn't a lot, being paid to keep the contract seems a pretty good deal!

I've phoned up Retentions twice now. Each time i've been offered

500 mins + 300 txts = £20per month. And either £100 or a new phone. The phones they were offering were Samsung e370, Nokia 6131 or a SonyE K610i.

    I want either a SonyE K800i (£79.99) or a SonyE w800i (£49.99)

They dont seem to be able to move on that. Next time shall i just ask for my PAC? and get a cashback deal somewhere else?

Although i like the idea of the £6pm package which zz9 has just commented on.

Phoned them up about 45minutes ago (now that the E900 is supposed to be back in stock) but they said "our systems are currently down, please phone back in the next couple of hours).

Grrr. Anyone know when they close, think I read 8pm somewhere?

I never go over my allowance so my call spend is £0.

I've been with O2 for about 9 years, might have something to do with it.

    Hi Simon83,

When you call the Retentions Dept just tell them that your looking for a better deal, you don't need to say you want to cancel.

Try and have an idea what you want with mins and texts etc..
