I am getting so cheesed off! They won't put me through using the freephone number, and will give me a price plan of 500 minutes 100 txtxs, but still want £80 for the phone. I have rang 3 times now, and have probably paid the £80 in bloody phone charges!

Hi all
This probably isn't the right thread but how do I go about getting insurance for the new upgraded samsung e900 handset? I haven't had insurance for a long time and I'm not sure who I need to call to arrange it.
What should I be paying a month, so that I know I'm not being charged more?
Thanks in advance.

1Foxylady, assuming your provider is O2, you can call their Customer Services to ask about their insurance, for a start. I believe CPW also offer insurance that's available to all users (regardless if your phone was bought from them).
Insurance is possible as long as it's taken out within 14 days of purchasing the phone (or receiving the delivery). Shouldn't cost more than 10 quid a month.
IMHO, unless you live where there's a high theft rate, buying phone insurance is equivalent to pouring money down the sink.0 -

Hi Fiish
Thanks for the advice, I was just worried in case I dropped it rather than having it stolen.
I don't really want to pay £10, I thought it was about £4.99 per month, I'll call O2 and CPW and see what they say.
Thanks0 -

I've been with o2 for one year, never gone above my £30 line rental. I was offered 500 mins, 300 texts and a new phone (choice of quite a few) for £20 a month. Alternatively, they offered a £100 credit to my account if I didn't want a new phone.0

Really upset with O2 now...
3 weeks ago i phone up to ask for a PAC code but was offered a new phone.
They offered me a E900 but that was out of stock. I was told to call back on the 17th Jul, which i did and was told to call back again as that's still out of stock.
I called again begining this week and was told the same thing and now when i called they told me that it will over be available end of the month. And they are very rude!!!
Now instead of being able to cancel the contract 3 weeks ago, i will have to write in now and wait for another month!
Is there anything i can do as i don't want to waste/pay for another month rental. :mad:0 -

The woman on the phone offered me 100minutes, 400txts and the phone on a 12month contract for £21.50/month. I said no, I'm not having that, I want to cancel. Then she told me I'd have to give 30 days written notice if I wanted to cancel, which is obviously a bit of a pain.
So I said, OK, what about 100minutes and 200txts then? And she said £12.50/month on the 12month contract. I don't really need anywhere near 700txts/month so I said alright.
But I was told the E900 wouldn't be back in stock until the 26th July, so I have to phone back then and they'll sort it out.
I said I was gonna have to pay for another months line rental if it wasn't sorted today (current contracts next billing month starts tomorrow), and she said they'd transfer the unused minutes and txts across from my current contract to the new one when I phone up on the 26th.
If they screw me around like they did with you, and the phone isn't in stock on the 26th, then I'm definitely leaving unless they offer me something amazing.0 -
Just rang O2 concerning daughters contract ( ends next month) and was offered 500 mins and 200 texts, for £30 and a free E900. Asked for 500 & 500 for £25 same price she is paying now on O2 100. and was told ok but phone not in till week comm 28th. Not to bad a deal, I know that a couple of people have got double mins so I'll try for them when I ring back for the phoneNice to save.0
