well thats it, it is now a known fact, i am crap at cooking:eek:

made lasagne for tea, put in oven, dish was too big for oven so door had to be left open a teeny bit, done this before and it cooked fine, but this time the cheese refused to melt, the lasagne sheets were still hard, only bit edible was the mince!

just one of those days, yesterday was rubbish, had a headache all day, got worse even with painkillers, started feeling sick so went to bed at 6 last night, head much better this morning though.

hope everyone having better day than me:rolleyes:

(((((kyle)))))) what a shame! I'm sure you cook lots of nice things:D Today just wasn't your day. Grab yourself a cup of tea and put your feet up for a bit.

    Hello again! :hello:

Well, I didn't do the hoovering and dusting (not yet, anyway) but did the Surgery/chemist/baker bit, went through some of the paperwork, and gave the bathroom a going-over - my arms didn't fancy hoovering after that! I'm quite pleased, our bath doesn't have any silicone sealant along the side and it had started to look a bit mouldy where it joins the tiles  - I'd kept putting off scrubbing it, but today I thought I really had better do something about it, so attacked it with "Mould and Mildew remover" and a nail brush. That made it look so much better that I cleaned the tiles as well. It'll be interesting to see if DH or DS notice (probably not! )

Oh, and I handwashed some bras too - one of those jobs that in reality doesn't take long but always seems such a bother. I've got some T-shirt bras from M & S which can go into a gentle machine wash, so I'd just been wearing those as life has been so busy since Christmas, even though the underwired ones give me a much better shape.:o

Oh, and I remembered to book a haircut for Thursday - we're going away on Sunday, so I though I'd better go looking respectable.:D We're going to Cornwall for 4 nights. Catowen, I'd have so loved to meet you but I know there won't be time, especially as DH will need to spend most of the first day resting after the drive, and you'll be working anyway. We're going to Carbis Bay. Hopefully we'll be able to get down there another time, for a bit longer.

Hello and welcome to our new members! Please excuse my not mentioning you by name, I've got a very bad memory!

AussieLass - :hello: I guess you're glad of the rain!

Shez and Rzl - glad you enjoyed Madam Butterfly! Did you cry? I'm sure I would have done.

Scuzz - good luck with the jobhunting!

Jayward - at least it's good to finally have a diagnosis. I hope the new meds will help.((HUGS))

Catznine - poor you, not at all a nice time at the dentist!((HUGS)) Thanks for the hello. Don't worry, I've been resting in between doing things. Wouldn't it be lovely not to have to?!

Churchmouse - your poor niece, hope she feels better now. Thank goodness she had you to help her.

Tattycath - ((HUGS)) to you, you don't sound at all well! Hope you feel a bit better when you wake up tomorrow
Grannybroon - bit of an eventful night for you then! Poor little boy, I hope he's feeling a bit better this evening.

Tru - glad you managed to buy Beans's brother! I hope Bubbles let you catch her.

So sorry I haven't mentioned everyone individually, but I can't remember what everyone said now!

Edited to add: Susie - what a shame about the lasagne! Today was "just one of those days" and tomorrow will be better. (HUGS))

    Have a good evening

  • BTW, I made twink's hobnob recipe this afternoon.

    I can confirm the following:

    1. it works ok if you leave the bicarb out (I didn't have any)
    2. they taste nice just out of the oven
    3. they taste nice 5 minutes later
    4. they taste nice if you eat 2 more in quick succession with a mug of coffee
    5. they taste nice cold.

I will check out the "late night" taste and the "next day" taste and report further tomorrow perhaps (if I can roll myself in the direction of the computer by that point....)

Need to have a quick moan

Think our oven is not working..........well the fan assisted part doesn't seem to be............so I'm going to have to use the other one and its takes ages..............lol
I'm not the best of pals with kitchens and ovens at the best of times and when things don't work properly there can be serious fall outs. To add to it, I think the washer or something on the hot tap in kitchen sink is playing up - not coming out of the tap as full as it ought to and I can only turn the tap on so far and its stuck !! Oh ***** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldnt be so bad but I'm in charge of my dinner...............OH is having chille leftovers in the microwave when he comes in............I was re-heating leftover tandori chicken.................looks like I'll either have to have it cold or wait till I don't know when.

Sorry...................rant/moan over............will now venture into the kitchen with smile on my face and see if it makes a difference to any of these man-made appliances:confused:

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
