Hi all. Fitful night last night and have made an appointment with Dr today. Couldn't get one until 4.30pm today-so I'll see what he has to say, I just feel rotten, like yesterday, but with headache as well and so lethargic. I only got up about an hour ago.
Anyway enough of my rambling about me, haven't read thread yet, hope everyone is ok and (((hugs))) to those who need them or would like one.

Novice - re the ham - next time try soaking it overnight to get the salt out, and then dry roasting it in the SC. Throw it in, switch it onto High, about 3 hours depending on size, the same for roasting any meat in the SC. It just falls to pieces. Don't overdo though as it will go dry. Enjoy experimenting.:j

Jayward - Not a not diagnosis, but at lest you can move forward ((hugs))

Newbies - welcome, we all butt in here, but between you and me I am secretly here to keep my eye on HJ, AL, CM, etc., :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: The only qualification you need, is you need to be able to waffle.

Justamum - first of all no-one is just a Mum!. Secondly check with your neighbours (maybe a good way of meeting them) to see if anyone else used oil, and would like to share a load, and maybe they have an account which would help you.

Pen-Pen - my windows sidebar says you have not got above freezing today, or Askern hasn't - hope you managed to keep warm.

Pen-Pen, Mrs_M, HJ, and anyone else under the weather (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))

Hi There been awol for a couple of days! It is half term here, I am on holiday and had quite a few chores to do.

Hope you are OK and gather we have new folk - so very welcome to our community.

Well, yesterday I set off on my adventures, calling in to buy my kitchen ceiling light fitting at a new, huge B&Q (Hermiston Gait for anyone in the Edinburgh area!). It was huge, good selection of lights but mine out of stock. Went over to Fife and no toll and everything seems OK at the moment - no holdups.

Lovely time with family and then this morning, well, of dear! DGS1 began to be sick at about midnight and that was it until 6.00 am this morning, every half an hour! He was a wee darling but not nice! He coughs a few times before he is sick so at least there is a warning! Fortunately DGS2 and DGS3 slept through the trouble but DD, DSIL and me totally knacked! DGS1 finally slept and DGS3 up for his Mum milk feed just after 6.00 this morning. She is so tired. At least I could give him his solids today. I was supposed to be the helper at DGS1's nursery this morning but more help to DD and DSIL. I will sleep well tonight and book another session!

    Love GB xxxxxxx

Ooh, thanks for that DG. My next experiment is going to be a shoulder of lamb, or is that a bit ambitious do you think? So I just need to bung it in the pot with no liquid and leave it on High? That sounds too easy, have I missed something?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just back from dentist the extraction was abandoned as the tooth didn't want to move lol! so I am keeping it (it isn't bad but dentist thought it might be lose and it appears that it def isn't :D )and I am having a bigger bridge made so another tooth can take the strain as well! all that and I have a temp bridge for a week so I have to be careful what I eat, a good excuse for cheesy mash!;) I am going to take a painkiller soon as mouth is beginning to buzz which means the injections will be wearing off soon. Supper will be a tin of tomato soup for me with grated cheese in and oh can have the leftover butternut squash risotto. Maybe now I will start to lose some weight!

(((hugs))) to jayward, not good news but at least you now have a diagnosis and with the right meds can move forward.

(((hugs))) to tattycath, hope you feel better soon.

    :hello: hello Saxy1

I am going to settle down with my "take a break" and enter all the comps!

Suesy Sue, just for you I made another batch of anzacs today:D Don't thank me, I know , I'm too self-sacrificing for my own good:rotfl: :rotfl: As I was making mine, I had the thought, do you think your melted butter/syrup mixture could have been too hot? I know that the twinks go wrong if it is, so I imagine the same could be true of anzacs. You want it only just melted and as cool as possible, if that makes sense. Anyway, the recipe worked perfectly for me. DH says they're far superior to the ones I used to buy from Sainsbury's;)

 saxy1. Look forward to hearing from you:D

Aussie, the reason Martin extended an invite to you was because he knew you'd be too shy, modest and retiring to butt in:p :rotfl: :rotfl:  (and I do not have an unnatural relationship with my breadmaker. We're just very close friends:cool: :p )

Jayward, maybe not the diagnosis you'd have wanted, but at least now you know what you're up against. (((((hugs)))))

Haribo, how are you doing? Hope the infection is all gone and you're taking it easy:D Better still post on here!!!!! Surely DH has blown up a hoover or something to amuse us:rotfl:

Best phone my eldest DS , it's his birthday today. He lives abroad, so it cost a fortune sending his presents, just hope he liked them;)

tru, bet your butt was aching or numb too!!! Glad piggy has company again. Shame Bubbles didn't want to be friends, perhaps she just preferred your old one.

TBH the rules say you should seal it first in the frying pan, but as most have realised on here by now I have idleness off to a fine art, and don't sometimes I sprinkle dried mint and/or rosemary on it before I throw it in. The liquid that comes out of it can be a little fatty so one of those fat remover jugs (Wilko's do them) is handy. I often get the frozen legs from Aldi - very reasonable and very tasty. Lamb is my favourite.
