Competitions Ending 29/02
Comments
-
Could everyone please look at THIS POST of mine and continue this discussion in the discussion thread.
I have offered an alternative that hopefully satisfies all concerned parties.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -
monsieur_epargnant wrote: »Thanks for giving this saga a much need overview Kipper. BTW sorry to hear you are ill at the moment. I truly hope that your health turns around for you soon.
I would really like an explanation from you in how these boards are descending into chaos??
The chaos is that there are comps ending threads everywhere! and then there is the who should do this day/that day threads popping up and people getting narky cos someone has nicked their day due to cross purposes and threads, I saw a few at the weekend where divadee had to step in and stop it, this board is a fun place and it should stay that way
It was fine when the comps ending thread was a day ahead of its self but, come on, a week in advance? thats just plain silly (IMO)monsieur_epargnant wrote:Currently there are only 7 days ahead of these posts. Apart from this particular end of month one that I invested OVER 7 solid hours and thought it sensible to share the huge list in one thread even. Are a total of 8 posts really leading to the destruction of life as we know it in compsville? What a constructive 7 hours of mine!!?
No need to be 7 days ahead, 1 or 2 days is fine, I can appreciate you have taken OVER 7 hours of your time creating the comps ending thread and after all you did volunteer( last day of the month was the worst to pick) but I and the other BG's can spend that amount of time doing Game Over's, merging threads and sorting the board out in general and we do that EVERY day, not just once or twice a week to ensure a smooth running board plus comps isn't our only board either
_monsieur_epargnant wrote:If anything these threads have become MORE organised. What was once a last minute rush with a compilation thread posted in under 2 days before is currently running at a smooth weekly turnover.
It doesn't have to be a last minute rush to have a comps ending thread ready for the following day IF it is organised correctly, which is what the BG's are trying to work out at the moment_monsieur_epargnant wrote:If, say, the compilation threads that are split into multiple parts are the ones that are t-r-o-u-b-l-e then this would be a VERY simple thing for the OP to edit the first thread and the BG's to delete offending parts.
There doesn't have to be part 1,2,3 and 99 threads they can all go in one thread, just do the thread and say have 20 comps and then add the next 20 posts underneath, so its one rather large threadmonsieur_epargnant wrote:While we have your attention Kipper are you able to explain what has happened to the the subscription daily email for the comps? I never delete my emails and count a total of only 7 of these over the last month. I'd hope if you really are suggesting we stop posting these threads that the emails problem is fixed first.
And for the record - no your not nasty.. that would be a true sign these boards HAD descended into chaos!
I can't explain what happened to the emails as thats a technical thing, I can only suggest to keep asking the site questions and suggestions board and hopefully the right MSE member will pick it up
Right I think I've said my bit, as already mentioned the BG's are trying to sort something out and we will let you know as soon as we have made a decision, I'm off now to get ready for my Valentines evening out

Totally agree with what Kipper said, which is what I tried to say in an earlier post but Kipper worded it better - is there any real need to put this (29th) up so early? I'd say - for instance 15-16-17 - to do upto & including the next 3 days at a time otherwise it really is going to get too confusing IMO.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

omg i cant believe how many comps there was for this day . i am glad you posted so early i was losing the will to live entering them all... i have done it over 3 days!!!!! so i cant imagine what it was like compiling this list.
thank you ever so much it is really appreciated, i think this idea of the lists of comps ending on 1 specific date is an amazing idea, why did we never think of it before?? (even if there has been some teething problems, but it is the first time so i am sure it will only get better)
thanks again everyone who does them, you are all stars :)xCompers challenge 2024 wins!!!!.... Oct £60... £10 free spins, £50 palm, m&m pouch0 -
