When I compiled the lists I was doing it to help out, as i think other people are. Definitely didn't mean to cause so much offence and I am sorry if you are offended by them.

It seems you are out to make this an "issue".At least what Cheeky Chicken said was constructive, she said it would be neater if they were kept to one list, which is what Monsieur epargant has suggested, If you dont use the list why comment?
This is a public forum, not owned by one or two compers, Where is the compers cameraderie?
Also as stated by others 100 odd thanks per list BUT see how many actually view the list, its over a thousand odd, I generally use loquax and cross reference with the list after.
These compers that compile thelist are trying to do a favour for a cross section of compers, they are trying to find a system that will keep everyone happy.
This is like a weird type of workplace bullying. I for one will not stand by and let that happen around me.

I agree come on Baby Giant this is a great friendly forum and of course we are not going to please everyone all of the time!and as the saying goes if you do not like it do not use the said thread!
I and many others love these threads as this is the way I enjoy comping.
We all enjoy different aspects of comping and many people use them,hence all the thanks these people have had!!

It yes as Toniq said it is a public forum not owned by any of us.

Wow thankyou toniq!! I really felt isolated until your very supportive post. Of course it wasn't the only one but it has taken it right down the line and seen it for how it really looks.

I was actually in physical pain the other night due to it's generally ABUSIVE tone. Now I'm hoping none if it was truly intended but I really wonder what Martin would say if he were to get a whiff of it.

I honestly feel there is a vocal minority that would prefer things to stay as they are. That's fine. But there is a large number that are helped by them and that's why DAWNYLOU (sorry I didn't give credit to the OP where it was due!!) recognised the other users might wanna run with it when her free time evaporated.

I see it a bit like the Cinema Tickets thread. More people on there complain about people chatting than ones that are actually chatting, and creating a larger problem than the one they originally complained about. It's possible to lose sight of what really matters. I think people on MSE need to take a step back and remember why Martin Lewis created this place originally.

toniq & monsieur epargnant - couldn't agree more!! If you don't like the thread, all you need to do is bypass it - the title is self-explanatory so no-one is forced to click on it!!
Also, I think it funny that if someone's not remotely interested in this thread, then what's the point of clicking on and reading through pages of comments just to slag it off - thus bumping it again.
If it's not for you, then leave it well alone - it's meant for the folks who feel it does benefit them.

A number of people have given literally hours of their time compiling these lists for the good of others, which in my book is a very selfless thing to do & to be put down for that is pretty mean-spirited!!

I think the amount of thanks these threads create are testament to how many people are helped by them.

That's just my humble opinion - no-one has to agree or disagree- that's what a democracy is all about.

I don't use Loquax I use MSE I like these threads, why should I move to another forum?

It just seems to me that this was very poorly thought out and put together. We have posts popping up all over the place and generally making the forum a complete nightmare. I am not talking anarchy here but we did have a genuine constructive consultation on the inclusion of a one format way of adding end dates to threads to help searching. That was good and highlighted alot of issues. My point was that this has not been opened to "Debate" or a "Poll" and just seems to have been thrown in here with out prior thought to the "minority" (as you call it - thanks by the way). I didn't mean my tone to be harsh but I feel that this could have been handled alot better. Did you at least ask the boardGuides opinions?

I am generally for what was happening prior to this when lists were appearing the day before end date - that was workable and I could see people using them to effect. How is anyone effectively going to use threads with end date 5, 7 or 10 days before that are being added to all the time. How is this doing the board any good?

The people constructing these lists are actually trying to work on a system that wont clutter the board or cause any issues in peoples comping experience, There was a suggestion by Cheeky Chicken which Monseiur epargnant was trying to implement, From my understanding there would be one thread the no chat just ending comps, Post 1 E:???1 post 2E:????2 etc,
But people are wary after the comments in this thread.
It isnt just newbies (hate that term)that use the lists. We are all in this comping game together and all want to succeed in a plesant amiable enviroment, x
I often use digital spy forums, and i daily use sky news forums, If you ever see the mad debates and views on there youll understand how lucky we are not to have that level of madness, lol look at freebies or grabbit!
