I often use digital spy forums, and i daily use sky news forums, If you ever see the mad debates and views on there youll understand how lucky we are not to have that level of madness, lol look at freebies or grabbit!

I didn't suggest anything of the sort, I just asked if we could lose the part 1, part 2, part 3 etc and have 1 thread per day. Please stop quoting me now - believe me, I'm thoroughly regretting mentioning it at all. I now realise that if you don't use the lists you should not comment on them, and will not do so again.

Gosh, what has happened in this forum?? Where has all this bickering come from? Lets get things in perspective guys. Lets have a vote on it, and if we decide collectively to go ahead with the daily lists then lets get it organised properly. Rotas, rules about when to post it and no part 1/part 2s etc. There is nothing to stop lists being compiled well before the date but no need to post it until a decided time. Would it be possible to have another subboard for daily lists or perhaps that would be too much work for the BGs?? I dont know.

Lets go back to all being friends again

I do not really think we need a vote (only my opinion):idea:;)
If the powers that be that keep an eye on the forum think it is okay then I take it they do as they have left the threads.
Though have to agree they should only be done about 2 days before and then there will be no clutter.
Do not think there is a need for a sub thread.
And I bet some of the ones who do not like them have had a wee peek to see if they have missed any:D;)

Now come on lets just be HAPPY COMPERS AGAIN as we cannot all agree with everything and an open forum:D

I still think we need "a pick a date and post thread"

I am happy to do this each month, so long as no one else posts anything else. It needs to be official between ourselves!!

All I have to do is what I did before, its simple:

Dates available:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 etc

I choose 8 so I copy and past the dates and delete 8 and enter a new post IE:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 9

The next person can then choose from the remaining dates!!

No-one has to choose a date, if there are dates left it doesn'tmatter!

It is/was helpful to so many, including myself, which is why I wanted to help and post some dates, but we(I!) dont want to waste hours duplicating work!!

The fact is we all have to agree to what we do, if we don't we may wastp hours! We may start to post too early, I believe it needs to be organised, I am happy to take this on - so long as you dont expect me to do the unchosen dates!! - LOL

When I saw some of the comments on here I was seconds away from deleting the whole thread. But that would've been rather pointless and what's done is done. A mistake has happened- I've apologised, ryan85k has spat the dummy and thrown hours of work down the toilet (I would've been just as enraged) and there's still days that need doing. Hopefully something has been learnt from this.

It's my suggestion that if in future any of you spot a duplicate thread of ANY sort to question it's reasons for being around. If the new one is to sift through the rubbish then it should've at least carried over anything that was agreed in the original. But please be clear I'm not on some witch hunt trying to lay the blame on someone.

I don't think anyone was being harsh and I have TOTAL sympathy for ryan85k and really this is between us two. Hey it could've been me in his shoes instead.

Please accept this as a public apology.

Thats made me feel really guilty about complaining! this was all just a misunderstanding and I appreciate the effort you have put in here mate, i really wasnt that angry just a little frustrated but as soon as I realise it was a misunderstanding i found it funny more than anything! and you had every comp that had on my list and a few more so nobody has lost! You are harsh! I think the people who have duplicated threads or have worked on the same dates! are ok with each other!! (I am!!) We appreciate there was no real organisation, but we still believe in the threads. Its other people who are putting in there 2P worth, as it were!

I am very very busy, I use my lunch time etc to check out comps. The recent addition of competitions ending has given me a new enthusiasm in comps. It is exciting as we will hear within the very near future if we are winners! And bearing in mind I have little time, it is very helpful to check out the comps ending in the near future instead of having to trawl through all the dates I have missed, (sorry I just dont have time everyday to check all the comps posts)including loads of bumps!

I am upset that this forum has got to this stage, I always thought and still believe that we were the friendliest, noone is in this for themselves, advertising a great prize to others is so selfless!! We are a site that shares!!!

I agree that the threads are useful to many and avoids missed competitions, but I also agree that the whole situtation needs to be better organised before I would consider doing another. Maybe also not doing them any more than a week in advance would alleviate the concerns of those that are not fans of them and help keep the board tidy (there would then be no more than 7 at a time on the board with others in game over), I would like us all to try and keep some kind of community spirit on this board more than anything so some compromise would best be reached, why dont we ask Queen Kipper to suggest a resolution? Searchable end dates would obviously be one solution!.

This is getting ridiculous now, why on earth are we having Game Over threads that are two weeks in advance of the actual end date??? more comps are likely to be added to the board with that end date and thus not being put on the thread unless the OP wants to trawl the board everyday.


I'm not a fan of these threads by any means, but we (the BG's) can't stop people from doing them, so we are trying to work out a scheme which will actually work, or failing that scrap the whole thing as its causing absolute chaos on the boards at the moment.


So can we please stop the infighting and sniping, possibly stop doing the threads til the BG's have decided where we are going with this and remember this is a general forum, not a comping website, as its been said before, if you are that desperate for Ending E:?? comps, go over to Loquax or Prizefinder for the time being

Thanks for giving this saga a much need overview Kipper. BTW sorry to hear you are ill at the moment. I truly hope that your health turns around for you soon.

I would really like an explanation from you in how these boards are descending into chaos??

Currently there are only 7 days ahead of these posts. Apart from this particular end of month one that I invested OVER 7 solid hours and thought it sensible to share the huge list in one thread even. Are a total of 8 posts really leading to the destruction of life as we know it in compsville? What a constructive 7 hours of mine!!?

If anything these threads have become MORE organised. What was once a last minute rush with a compilation thread posted in under 2 days before is currently running at a smooth weekly turnover.

If, say, the compilation threads that are split into multiple parts are the ones that are t-r-o-u-b-l-e then this would be a VERY simple thing for the OP to edit the first thread and the BG's to delete offending parts.

While we have your attention Kipper are you able to explain what has happened to the the subscription daily email for the comps? I never delete my emails and count a total of only 7 of these over the last month. I'd hope if you really are suggesting we stop posting these threads that the emails problem is fixed first.

And for the record - no your not nasty.. that would be a true sign these boards HAD descended into chaos!
