T-Mobile Retentions

£9 per month? Sounds pretty good to me - the average for that handset seems to be around £15-£20 per month.
How did you get them to offer that deal? Was there a charge for the handset or was it free?
Handset was free, just been to my local store to pick it up. I just rang up retentions, and basically asked what deal they could offer me to stay with them. I was only on a 30day rolling sim-only contract, so had the freedom to leave anytime! That was what they came up with! I'm happy with it!
When I rang up - the guy did say it was best to ring to see what deals they had, rather than go online through your account for them.0 -
Thanks for the above daisy_jean.
Sounds like you got a very decent deal there...will be calling T-mobile in the near future for a bit of a haggle. Wish me luck!0 -
1200 mins, 500 texts, unlimited t mobile to t mobile, £15 a month plus mobile broadband (with the dongble thingy and hot spots) £5 a month, been with them well over 10 years.0

Hello all,
First time posting, and I would like to say that reading up on the forums. It really explains what you wouldn't normally find in other websites or search engines. So Kudos to you all!
Okay, to my questions...
Situation:
T-Mobile contract expiring on October of this year.
Flext 40 / £44.99 over 18months.
I have already ended a contract with the same provider for another Flext deal averaging £34/month.
Essentially, I've been paying roughly around £80~89 per month for 18months.
Until my 2nd line have finished its contract, since it was pointless to keep the 2nd line.
During my call to cancel the 2nd line. I've asked what deal I could expect for iPhones, and the rep told me that due to Apple's issues with dropping calls. T-Mobile have placed a hold on all iPhone4s. He said he would place me in the waiting list or some sort of queue to receive information once its available.
With the Flext 40 (current), I've barely used up all the mins. Mostly it was kept to receive push emails and send occasional texts with some calls which barely even reached 3/10th of its usage per month.
With the above details, what kind of deals could I expect to get with my current provider without a phone (sim only)?
Alternatively, what kind of deals could I expect with an Android phone or iPhone4 to stay with them?
Any help would be really appreciated!
*Scouring the net and finding deals on iPhone4s' and what not has really confused me even more when I started.
** Also, I've never missed a payment whilst on contract for both phones.0 -

I took out a 2 year contract with T- mobile in December for an I-phone. Does anyone know if they will either let me upgrade to new I-phone 4 (if so, what would costs be), of take out an additional contract for another I-phone (I will then have sons older I-phone he could have new one). Does anyone know what sort of contracts are being offered now, i have 900 min, unlimited texts and web for £35 per month. Thanks.Jan Grocery challenge
Budget £350 - Spent £64.45 to date0 -
Been offered the following upgrade deal from T-Mobile
I am on friends n Family 50% discount paying 17.50 p/m currently for a blackberry 9000.
Been offered 24m contract on the iphone 4 16gb free (32gb £49) , £30 p/m
unlimited calls, unlimited texts and unlimited internet (subject to FUP). Deal???
Or if i stay on 18m contract then can get the iphone 3gs for free on a lower price tariff.
Not sure whether i should go for 3gs or iphone 4, hmmmmm decisions.0 -
@immy
How long have you been with T-Mobile?
How long is was/is your current contact for?
Either way, that looks like a great deal to me. IF you go for the free iPhone4 16GB0 -
had this contract for around 4 or 5 yrs now. Been on FF for about 4 of those years.
Not worth my while leaving for anyone else as no one can match the 50% FF discount....and i always get a pretty decent handset for free come upgrade time.
Think i will go for the free iphone 4, on the 30 pound deal (£60 normal tariff).0 -
Been offerd the following from retentions 600mins 500text + 3gb web for £10 on 30 day rolling contract. Only been with them for less than a month on the £15 sim only deal. But decided I was going for the tesco deal @ £10 for 500mins unltd texts & internet, so they offered me the above.
I also got £35 cash back through cashback kings for the £15 sim deal, so works out first 3 months for free.0
