T-Mobile Retentions

  • Just phoned this morning and got offered exactly the same deals as on their website, very disappointing (customer of ten years plus). Am now about to save myself a packet by hopping in to the Virgin store and taking their much better deal. Loyalty is obviously an outdated concept these days so t-mobile may find themselves losing a lot of custom unless they can at least match other network deals.

we got told (this afternoon by t-mobile) that t-mobile would match like for like the tesco triple your credit tariff and only charge £5 per month for it
  • I called a couple of days ago to ask about moving to a higher price plan Flext 35 (you can still get it if you are a existing customer) and getting the Storm 2. So the figures were Flext 35 + extra £5.00 for BB use. Total £40.00 pm and they wanted first of £180.00 for the handset then £100.00 then £40.00.
I called up tonight and the chap said I have a very special deal for you 300 min 300 texts free bolt on and data plus HTC Touch 2 for £15.00 pm. Said I would think about it. Having checked its just another deal from their web site.
They just dont seem to be able to offer any decent deals any more, Will request both lines to be canceled tomorrow. Loyalty goes both ways.
  • quick question, im with t mobile, have been for nearly 2 years and have a £40 per month tariff, i go over this every month and average about £80 per month.
i have a poor credit rating so would be unlikely to be able to get a contract with a different company,
what kind of leverage would i have if i was to haggle for a good deal in september when im due to upgrade, going by the fact i have spent nearly £2000 in the past 2 years ive been with them?

does this help my case at all

  • Spoke to t-mob retentions yesterday and then again today, told them I was looking for an I-phone or HTC Hero/HD2.

The deals they offered me were actually more expensive than the ones I could get as a new customer on O2/Voda/Orange, shows that the 4-5 years I've been on a contract with them doesn't mean a great deal. Even a small discount and I'd probably have stayed just for the ease of it.

Ahwell though, requested my PAC code and will be moving to O2:j.

Rang up t-mobile to cancel my contract and see what they offered me, which was exactly the same as their new customer deals online, and the woman i spoke to was very unhelpful so i requested my PAC code and thought that was the end of it.

The next day, they wanted me to fill out their sms survey, so i said i was disappointed with the service i recieved.

Then the day after that, a specialist Retentions department rang me and offered me, 300 minutes and unlimited texts and a blackberry curve for £5. On a 24 Month Contract. Not sure if this was because of my feedback, but thought i'd add it in.

100 Mins + 100 Texts with free 6303 for 24 months. Not the greatest deal but a good one nonetheless considering how little the phone is used the longer contract will stop me from negotiating for another two years. Also blagged a second line (brand new) for the deal....bargain I thought :)
