T-Mobile Retentions

How can a existing customer not get the same deal as a new customer?
that makes no sense!!
That was from personal experience some months back. I have been on Simplicity for a while and haven't spoken to Retentions recently so it is likely that what I experienced is out of date.
However, there's a good SIM-only deal on 3 which I'm itching to switch to - I tried twice today and waited on a queue twice (broke off the calls as I had to get back to work); anyone know the best time of day to ring them these days?0 -
Just rang up trying the upgrade route and they really will only give you what is advertised on their website. Nothing more.
Ive rang up like 3 times today =( first time just to see what upgrades i could get. The second time to find out about cancellation but the man started talking to me about the contract i had enquired about early and he changed it so i was getting something less than what was agreed :@ so then i was so confused i had to ring up to speak to another person to find out what exactly that price plan really covers. But they have no way offered me anything except what is advertised. Is it bad if ive rung up many times in one day?0 -

Has anyone managed to cancel an upgrade through T-Mobile?
I'm asking because I cancelled an Iphone upgrade and returned the phone to Chitter Chatter ages ago and T-Mobile have still yet to change my contract back to my old one.
They say they need confirmation from Chitter Chatter and Chitter Chatter say 'yes, we've received the phone, we'll probably do it when we can be bothered, maybe'
It was meant to take a total of five days and it has been weeks since I returned it.....neither customer services are willing to help and I'm stuck on this new contract I do not want and can't upgrade until it is cancelled.

I was thinking that convincing my gf to get an Samsung Galaxy and it's £20 per month and I was wondering if she could get a discount?
I am on a £35 per month contract and she is on a £15 per month sim only and she has a sister on the £15 sim only.
Any ideas?...0 -
They dont offer anything worth buying. They cant offer anything cheaper than they have on their website already.
For sim only contract I was offered £5 a month 24 months 100 min / 100 txt with 1 booster.
Havnt accepted anything yet, will look for another network.0 -
After a year of the useless brick that is the N97 (Bought offline, more fool me), I decided to push my luck and ask about the iPhone on T Mobile.
Initially, retentions offered to match the Orange tariff of 600 minutes/500 texts at £35 each month on an 18 month contract. Then I said I could go to O2 for the same deal, and get a discount on my home broadband, which I get from them. They countered this with a reduced price handset at £95.
I wheedled on about how my usage is predominantly texting (A lot - I regularly hit the 800 text mark) and not calls, so they threw in unlimited texting and data, as long as I took a 24 month contract. I'm quite happy with this, I've been with T Mobile for 12 years and generally had no problems.
Thanks to reading up here, I got the lovely customer service man to confirm that T Mobile's handsets are 16gb 3GS handsets, in your choice of colour, sourced from mainland Europe by Chitter Chatter, and come with the Euro 2-pin plug, but they'll put an adaptor in with the bundle. They're unlocked and unbranded, so once I'm out of contract, I can put any SIM in it. I suppose in theory, I could put any SIM in it at any point if it's unlocked as long as I keep paying the line rental with T Mobile.
For anyone going ahead with this, once the T Mobile team are done with you, they pass you over to Chitter Chatter, who will try to flog you insurance and accessories before they take payment for the handset. Be prepared for hard sell© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -

Hi Talie, What deal did you eventually get? Was it as above but paying £95 upfront for the handset? Really interested to know what others are getting as I'm due for upgrade next week and really worried about getting locked in to a long contract with a rubbish phone, again! Would love an iphone but don't think it's quite in my budget.0 -
Just called them back - this time to cancel and I meant it. But hmmmm.......
T-Mobile G2 Touch
Free phone / 300 mins / unltd txts / free unlimited evening and weekend calls / free internet for 6 months £15 per month
After 6 months I'll need to add on the booster for the internet so then £20pm on a 24 month contract.
It's looking far hotter! :T
Thanks for pointing this out it helped with the bargaining. If it helps anyone I managed to get a variation on this deal which suited my usage better
Free phone / 100 mins / 100 txts / free unlimited Landline calls anytime / free unlimited internet for £15pm on a 24 month contract and a £30 credit to my account0 -
I got offered 300 minutes, unlimited text for £5 a month (24 month contract)..
Dissapointed that i never got offered a free phone or 6 month internet trial like others. But better then nothing.
