T-Mobile Retentions

just wanted to confirm.
do you loose your 'friends and family' discount if you cancel your contract when it has finished, even if you wanted to start a new one with t mobile.
also, as my contract is up at the end of jan, and it looks like t mobile are sticking to their guns and charging me full rrp for upgrade. will my contract continue as it is, or will it end.
usually they offer me a free upgrade every time so i never have to bother looking around. iv been with them for years, but i guess that means nothing where ever you go these days.0 -
I was also told by T Mobile that even though I have been with them for about 8 years I don't make them any money as I never go over my usage limit. With new customers they don't have a history of how much they spend so T Mobile take a chance and give them a new phone. I was told I had to pay £75 for the upgrade and then some more money towards the cost of the phone.
There is a T Mobile store near me so I thought I would chance it and see what they could do. I was offered a free G1 on the flext 35 package which I accepted. Result.
If you really want a new phone try in store as you have more chance of getting one than if you ringing up.0 -

If you cancel you contract it cancels all the perks. The F&F is linked to one account and one number.
It also depends on how long you have had f&f as the new ones are not as good as the old ones, my old one is for life and for any tarriff.
the new ones are for above £30 tarriffs and for only the contact duration I am told0 -
can anyone calling them just ask for a quote on the nokia 8800 carbon arte and see what they get offered please?0

thanks for the response.
my F&F is 'for life' but im not sure any tarriff, i know i can change my tarriff and keep F&F.
as for going in store, i already tried that hoping to talk my way around, the girl there told me they are all on F&F and have to pay for their phones aswel, and when she checked the system it wouldnt allow her to offer me an upgrade with out calling up the main sales office. so that wasnt any good.0 -
The discount is great, but since they changed their upgrade polices it's not the greatest choices for discount holders in regards with phones. tbh I'd prefer to have the discount and a half decent phone, than pay £35 per month and have a state of the art phone where I don't use half the functions (I do realise there are people out there that would use everything the phone has to offer though)
If I leave t-mobile i'll get the discount for life, I don't think i'll bother too much if I don't have the top phone on the market. I originally wanted the Tocco, but got the U800 instead, cheaper and a lil more basic, and I love it. I talk to people that use the Tocco and the keys are always being pressed when they are talking cause their cheeks touch the screen, rather annoying

If you have the F&F life its worth keeping.
You do get offered free phones, but they are either pants or the G1
I do not mind paying £100 ish for a good £300 - £400 handset with half price
The only way to upgrade with Tmobile is via 150 310
Store have no real offers for upgrades, esp for use F&F people0 -
